이는 저가 너를 새 사냥군의 올무에서와 극한 염병에서 건지실 것임이로다

For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper

And from the deadly pestilence.

저가 너를 그 깃으로 덮으시리니 네가 그 날개 아래 피하리로다

He will cover you with His pinions, And under His wings you may seek refuge;

또 네 이웃을 사랑하고 네 원수를 미워하라 하였다는 것을 너희가 들었으나 나는 너희에게 이르노니 너희 원수를 사랑하며 너희를 핍박하는 자를 위하여 기도하라 이같이 한즉 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지의 아들이 되리니 이는 하나님이 그 해를 악인과 선인에게 비취게 하시며 비를 의로운 자와 불의한 자에게 내리우심이니라 너희가 너희를 사랑하는 자를 사랑하면 무슨 상이 있으리요 세리도 이같이 아니하느냐 또 너희가 너희 형제에게만 문안하면 남보다 더 하는 것이 무엇이냐 이방인들도 이같이 아니하느냐 그러므로 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지의 온전하심과 같이 너희도 온전하라 요한복음 5:43-48

어릴 적에 장래 희망을 물으면 흔히 대통령이나 그런 류의 대답을 하곤 합니다. 자녀를 하나 키우면서 공주님 혹은 왕자님 그리 부르기도 합니다. 이런 마음이 기독교인들에게도 그대로 있어서 하나님의 아들이라 하면 대게는 왕자나 공주가 되는 착각들을 합니다. 오늘날 기독교인들에게 하나님의 아들이라는 호칭은 아마도 가장 퇴색되어 버린 복음 중 하나일 것입니다. 그저 예수님은 하나님의 아들이라 하는 정도로 생각을 하리라고 봅니다.

우선 하나님의 아들이라는 부름에 대하여 먼저 생각할 것은 거룩함입니다. 하나님은 거룩하시니 그 아들 역시 거룩함이 마땅할 것입니다. 그런데 문제는 거룩함을 얻고자 하는 방편입니다. 누가 시작했는지 거룩함을 구별됨이라고 해석하는 것이 일반화 되어 있습니다. 이는 성도를 구별된 무리라고 해석하는 것과도 같습니다. 그런데 문제는 구별되는 방식이 계명을 지키는 것이라 설명하는 데 있습니다.

거룩함은 오직 하나님의 속성입니다. 그러므로 세상과 피조물인 우리가 하나님의 거룩함에 동참하는 유일한 길은 오직 하나님의 임재하심으로 말미암는 것입니다. 그리고 하나님의 임재하심은 깨끗하고 더러운 것의 구별이 없습니다. 아무리 더러운 것이라도 하나님의 임재하심에 있으면 그것은 거룩해집니다. 그 상황에서는 아무런 판단도 주어지지 않습니다. 하나님의 임재하심이 없는 상황에서 깨끗하고 더러운 것이 구별될 뿐입니다. 그것은 사람들의 문제입니다.

오늘 본문말씀은 하나님의 아들들의 속성에 대해 말하고 있습니다. 그것은 “너희 원수를 사랑하며 너희를 핍박하는 자를 위하여 기도하라.”는 것입니다. 그리고 그 이유를 설명하기를 “이는 하나님이 그 해를 악인과 선인에게 비취게 하시며 비를 의로운 자와 불의한 자에게 내리우심이니라.”라고 합니다. 주께서는 이를 말씀하심에 있어서 왕자나 공주가 갖게 되는 특혜나 특권에 대해서는 일체 언급이 없습니다.

그런데 하나님의 어떠하심에 대한 이 설명은 무언지 우리 마음에 수긍하기가 어려운 점이 있습니다. 왜냐하면 우리는 세상에 살면서 부조리하고 부당한 상황들을 겪을 때 오직 하나님께서 장차 공의의 심판으로 갚으실 것이라 여기는 부분들이 있기 때문입니다. 즉 우리가 바라는 하나님의 속성은 사랑과 함께 공의의 모습이어야 한다고 여기고 있습니다. 여기에서 우리는 하나님의 아들이 되는 조건에 대한 표현이 왜 이러한가를 생각할 계기를 얻게 됩니다.

하나님께서 악인과 선인에게 고루 빛을 비추시는 이유는 오직 한 가지, 거기에 하나님의 생명이 함께 한다는 전제입니다. 그리고 이 생명은 오직 그리스도와의 연합으로 이루어집니다. 즉 하나님께서 빛을 비추시는 이유는 그럼으로 모든 것이 본래와 같이 회복될 수 있기 때문입니다. 그리스도와 연합한 생명은 어느 곳에서나 그 싹을 틔우고 본래와 같이 회복하게 합니다. 하나님이 보시는 것은 이미 온전하게 회복된 모든 창조물들입니다.

우리는 상황이나 이웃을 거룩하게 하는 능력은 없습니다. 그들을 본래와 같이 회복하게 하는 것도 할 수 없습니다. 이러한 것들은 오직 하나님께로부터 오는 능력으로라야 가능합니다. 그러나 하나님께서 가지신 심정, 즉 그리스도와 연합한 생명을 바라보는 믿음의 마음은 우리에게 허락된 몫입니다. 우리의 상황이나 이웃을 그리스도와 연합한 생명으로 바라보는 마음이 있을 때 우리는 하나님의 아들이라 일컬음을 받을 것입니다.

When I ask about my future hopes when I was young, I often answer like the president or something. While raising one child, I sometimes call him the princess or the prince. Even Christians have this kind of heart, so when it comes to the son of God, most people mistake him for a prince or a princess. To Christians today, the term "son of God" is probably one of the most faded gospel. I just think that Jesus will think to the extent that he is the son of God.

The first thing to consider about the call of the Son of God is holiness. The Son of God must also be holy because he is holy. However, the issue is how to achieve holiness. It is common to interpret holiness as being distinct from who started it. This is the same as interpreting the saints as a distinct group. However, the problem is to explain that the distinct method is to keep the commandments.

Holiness is the only attribute of God. Therefore, the only way for the world and the creation of us to join God's holiness is through God's presence. And there is no distinction between clean and dirty God's presence. No matter how dirty it is, when it is in God's presence, it becomes holy. No judgment is given in that situation. In the absence of God's presence, clean and dirty is only distinguished. It is a matter of people.

Today's text talks about the attributes of the sons of God. It says, "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." And it explains, "This is why God will make the year drunk on the wicked and the good, and rain down on the righteous and the unjust." In saying this, the Lord makes no mention of the privileges or privileges of a prince or princess.

However, it is difficult to accept this explanation of how God is doing. Because when we live in the world and experience irrational and unjust situations, there are parts that we believe that God will repay with righteous judgment in the future. In other words, we believe that the nature of God we desire should be the form of justice along with love. Here, we get an opportunity to think about why this expression‎ of the conditions of being God's son is like this.

There is only one reason why God shines light evenly on the wicked and the good, the premise that God's life is with him. And this life consists only of union with Christ. In other words, God shines light because everything can be restored to its original state. Life united with Christ sprays and restores it to its original state everywhere. What God sees are all creations that have already been fully restored.

We do not have the ability to holyize situations or neighbors. We cannot restore them to their original state. These things are possible only with the ability to come from God. However, the heart of God, that is, the belief in life united with Christ, is allowed to us. We will be called the Son of God when we have a mind that views our situation or our neighbors as life united with Christ.
