Join Pastor Jim Cymbala for today’s daily devotional from 1 Timothy 4:1–2. 

There’s an old saying //that we’ve all probably heard /before:

“What would Jesus do?”

If we change that saying and instead ask [ourselves] /about things () we see, “Would Jesus do that?”

we will grow in discernment.

The false teachings of the world are enticing and self-gratifying.

Let’s ask the Spirit for guidance and follow what is really true.

* we 수식인 한정사 all = all of us,  * we’ve = we have의 축약형  * 완료시제 have+pp ;  have heard

* 추측의미로 쓰인 조동사 would,  * 지시 형용사인 that, 동명사인 saying, 

* 목적인 재귀 대명사 ourselves (주어=목적일 때 쓰임), 전목인 명사구 things (that) we see [목], 명+형절/목적격 관대절

* 주어인 명사구 The false teachings of the world, 보어인 형역 현분사 enticing and self-gratifying. 

* 5 형식의 목보인 원형 부정사구 (to) ask the Spirit for guidance and (to) follow [what is really true].

* follow의 목적인 의문사절  what is really true. (의문사=접속사=주어)
