[오늘의 묵상칼럼] 2026.9.2(수) 오늘의 말씀카드, 365묵상글

1. 오늘의 묵상칼럼 : 빛나는 별이 되는 삶

“지혜 있는 자는 궁창의 빛과 같이 빛날 것이요 많은 사람을 옳은 데로 돌아오게 한 자는 별과 같이 영원토록 빛나리라.” 다니엘 12장 3절

“나를 믿는 자는 성경에 이름과 같이 그 배에서 생수의 강이 흘러나오리라.” 
요한복음 7장 38절

  사람들은 흔히 빛나는 인생을 성공한 인생이라고 생각합니다. 많은 것을 이루고, 높은 자리에 오르며, 사람들에게 인정받는 삶을 빛나는 삶이라고 여깁니다. 그러나 성경은 전혀 다른 기준을 우리에게 보여줍니다.

  다니엘은 지혜 있는 자가 궁창의 빛과 같이 빛날 것이라고 말합니다. 그런데 그 지혜로운 사람은 단지 많은 지식을 가진 사람이 아닙니다. 많은 사람을 옳은 데로 돌아오게 하는 사람, 곧 하나님의 길을 알리고 다른 사람을 생명의 길로 이끄는 사람입니다. 성경이 말하는 진정으로 빛나는 인생은 자신만 밝게 빛나는 인생이 아니라, 다른 사람의 길을 밝히는 인생입니다.

  예수님께서도 믿는 자의 삶을 놀라운 약속으로 말씀하셨습니다. “그 배에서 생수의 강이 흘러나오리라.” 믿음은 단지 내가 구원받고, 내가 은혜받고, 내가 만족하는 데서 끝나지 않습니다. 그리스도를 믿는 사람 안에는 생명의 근원이신 성령께서 거하시며, 그 생명은 반드시 밖으로 흘러갑니다.

  오스왈드 챔버스는 강물이 그 근원이 알지 못하는 곳까지 흘러가 생명을 살리는 것처럼, 그리스도를 믿는 사람의 삶도 자신이 알지 못하는 곳까지 하나님의 축복을 흘려보낸다고 묵상했습니다. 우리는 때때로 “내가 과연 누구에게 도움이 되고 있을까?” “내 삶이 정말 누군가에게 영향을 주고 있을까?”라고 생각합니다. 그러나 하나님께서는 우리가 보지 못하는 곳에서도 우리의 작은 친절과 사랑, 기도와 섬김, 믿음의 고백을 통하여 누군가의 마음을 새롭게 하실 수 있습니다.

  중요한 것은 내가 얼마나 크게 빛나느냐가 아닙니다. 생명의 근원이신 예수 그리스도에게 얼마나 가까이 붙어 있느냐입니다. 별은 스스로 빛을 만들어 내는 것이 아니라 하나님께서 정하신 자리에서 빛을 비춥니다. 강물도 스스로 생명을 만들어 내지 않습니다. 끊임없이 근원에서 공급받기에 흘러갈 수 있습니다.

  우리도 마찬가지입니다. 예수님과의 관계가 막히지 않을 때, 우리 안에 주신 생명은 말과 행동을 통하여 흘러갑니다. 내가 한마디 위로했을 뿐인데 누군가가 다시 일어설 수 있습니다. 내가 드린 작은 기도가 한 영혼의 삶을 변화시킬 수 있습니다. 내가 묵묵히 믿음을 지켰을 뿐인데 누군가는 그 모습을 통해 하나님을 바라보게 될 수 있습니다.

  그래서 하나님은 우리에게 먼저 “빛나려고 애쓰라”고 말씀하지 않으십니다. 예수님을 믿으라, 그리고 그분 안에 거하라고 말씀하십니다. 생수의 근원이신 예수님께 가까이 머물 때, 우리의 삶에서는 자연스럽게 생명의 강이 흘러나오기 때문입니다.

  오늘도 내가 얼마나 빛나고 있는지를 계산하기보다, 내가 생명의 근원이신 예수님께 연결되어 있는지를 돌아보아야 하겠습니다. 내가 알지 못하는 곳까지 흘러가는 생수의 강을 통하여, 많은 사람의 생명이 새로워지고 회복되며 하나님께로 돌아올 수 있습니다.

  그렇게 다른 사람을 살리는 생명의 통로가 되는 사람, 많은 사람을 옳은 데로 돌아오게 하는 사람이야말로 별과 같이 영원토록 빛나는 사람입니다.

  오늘도 예수님께 붙어 있읍시다. 그러면 우리 안에서 흘러나오는 생수의 강을 통해 우리가 알지 못하는 수많은 사람의 삶까지 하나님께서 새롭게 하실 것입니다.

2. 오늘의 묵상칼럼(영어버전) : A Life That Shines Like the Stars

“Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.”
Daniel 12:3

“Whoever believes in Me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”
John 7:38

  People often think of a shining life as a successful life. We tend to associate a brilliant life with great achievements, high positions, recognition, and influence. But Scripture gives us a very different picture.

  Daniel says that those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens. But who are these wise people? They are not simply those who possess great knowledge. They are those who lead many to righteousness—those who help others find the way of God and the path of life.

  According to Scripture, a truly shining life is not a life that draws attention only to itself. It is a life that helps others see the way.

  Jesus gives a similar picture when He speaks of those who believe in Him: “Rivers of living water will flow from within them.” Faith does not end with receiving salvation or blessing for ourselves. When we believe in Christ, the Spirit of God lives within us, and the life He gives is meant to flow outward.

  Oswald Chambers reflected on this truth by comparing the believer's life to a river. A river reaches places its source may never know, bringing life wherever it flows. In the same way, God can allow the life of a believer to touch and renew people far beyond what that believer can see or understand.

  Sometimes we wonder, “Am I really helping anyone?” “Does my life make any difference?” Yet God may be using our lives in ways we cannot see. A small act of kindness, a sincere prayer, a word of encouragement, a quiet act of service, or a faithful testimony may become a channel through which someone else encounters new life.

  The important question is not how brightly we think we are shining. The important question is whether we remain close to Jesus Christ, the source of life.

  A river does not create its own water. It continues to flow because it receives from its source. In the same way, we cannot produce spiritual life by our own strength. As we remain connected to Christ, His life flows through us.

  Perhaps a simple word you speak today will help someone rise again. Perhaps a prayer you offer will strengthen a weary soul. Perhaps your quiet faithfulness will cause someone to look again toward God.

  God does not first tell us to strive to become impressive or influential. He calls us to believe in Christ and remain close to Him. When we stay connected to Jesus, the source of living water, His life naturally begins to flow through us.

Today, instead of asking, “How brightly am I shining?” let us ask, “Am I remaining close to the source?”

  As we remain in Christ, rivers of living water will flow through our lives. And through those rivers, God can renew, heal, and restore countless lives—even lives we may never know we have touched.

  The person who becomes a channel of God's life and leads others toward righteousness is the one who will shine like the stars forever and ever.

  Remain close to Jesus today. Through the rivers of living water flowing from your life, God may renew countless people and lead them toward His light.
