📜🤝🪕멕시코는 활기찬 '메가 칼렌다(Mega Calenda)' 퍼레이드로 원주민의 날을 기념했다. 수백 명의 사람들이 2025년 8월 9일 토요일 멕시코시티 레포르마 거리에서 열린 '메가 칼렌다' 퍼레이드에 참여했다. 이 퍼레이드는 세계 원주민의 날을 기념하는 행사였다. 화려한 전통의상과 가면을 착용한 원주민 공동체 구성원들은 춤과 행진을 통해 자신들의 유산을 기념하고 권리, 정의, 그리고 문화 보존을 위한 그들의 끊임없는 투쟁에 대한 인식을 제고했다. 2020년 자료에 따르면 멕시코는 나와족, 마야족, 사포텍족, 믹스텍족 등 68개 원주민 부족을 인정하고 있으며, 이들은 멕시코 인구의 약 21.5%를 차지한다. 이 날은 원주민 문화를 기념하는 동시에 차별, 토지 소유권 분쟁, 사회적 불평등과 같은 문제 해결을 촉구하는 날이기도 하다. 전국 곳곳에서 전통 무용, 음악 공연, 미술 전시 등 원주민 전통을 기리는 문화 행사가 열렸다. 정부기관과 NGO들도 원주민 권리, 환경보호, 차별 금지 노력에 대해 논의하는 포럼을 개최했다. 매년 8월 9일로 기념하는 세계 원주민의 날은 유엔이 전 세계 원주민 공동체의 권리를 증진하고 보호하기 위해 제정했다.
