하남의 최대 현안으로는 교통 문제를 꼽았다. 그는 “지하철 5호선이 서울과 연결돼 있지만 배차 간격이 커 차를 놓치지 않으려 역 안에서 전부 뛰어다니고 있다”며 GTX-D 철도망 계획 추진 및 프리미엄 전세버스 도입 등을 약속했다. 이 후보는 자신의 별명이 “예산을 잘 따와서 예산 폭격기”라고도 했다.
