[암행어사]

1. 오늘의 묵상칼럼 : 축복을 비워 순종의 귀를 여는 거룩한 예배

"여호와께서 임하여 서서 전과 같이 사무엘아 사무엘아 부르시는지라 사무엘이 이르되 말씀하옵소서 주의 종이 듣겠나이다 하니" (사무엘상 3:10)

"베들레헴 성문 곁 우물 물을 길어가지고 다윗에게로 왔으나 다윗이 마시기를 기뻐하지 아니하고 그 물을 여호와께 부어드리며" (사무엘하 23:16)

   하나님의 거룩한 음성을 듣는 영적인 귀는 내 안의 사사로운 욕망이 멈추는 자리에서 비로소 열립니다. 많은 순간 우리는 하나님의 은혜와 축복을 구하지만, 그것을 하나님 자신을 향한 사랑의 통로가 아닌 나의 갈증과 안락함을 채우는 도구로 삼으려 합니다. 그러나 오스왈드 챔버스가 경고했듯이, 하나님께로부터 오는 귀한 축복으로 자신의 욕구를 채우려 한다면 그 축복은 영혼을 살리는 생수가 아니라 오히려 우리를 영적으로 부패하게 만드는 독이 될 뿐입니다.

   다윗은 부하들이 목숨을 걸고 적진을 뚫고 길어 온 베들레헴 성문 곁 우물물을 손에 쥐었을 때, 자신의 극심한 육체적 갈증을 채우는 대신 온전히 여호와 앞에 전제물로 부어드렸습니다. 가장 귀하고 달콤한 축복의 순간을 '온전한 예배의 제물'로 하나님께 올려드린 것입니다. 오늘 우리에게 허락된 수많은 은혜와 축복 또한 내가 소유하고 누리는 것으로 끝나서는 안 됩니다. 그것을 주님 앞에 기꺼이 쏟아부어 드릴 때, 우리는 비로소 세상의 소음과 자아의 욕심에서 벗어나 어린 사무엘처럼 온전한 순종의 태도로 엎드릴 수 있습니다. "말씀하옵소서, 주의 종이 듣겠나이다."

2. 오늘의 묵상칼럼(영어버전) :  Holy Worship: Emptying Blessings to Open the Ears of Obedience

"The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, 'Samuel! Samuel!' Then Samuel said, 'Speak, for your servant is listening.'" (1 Samuel 3:10)

"They drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: nevertheless he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the Lord." (2 Samuel 23:16)

  The spiritual ear that discerns the voice of God opens at the very place where our self-centered desires come to a halt. Far too often, we seek God’s grace and abundant blessings, only to consume them as tools to satisfy our personal thirst and worldly comfort, rather than as avenues to love Him deeper. Yet, as Oswald Chambers wisely warned, if you attempt to satisfy your own desires with the blessings that come from God, those very gifts will end up corrupting your soul rather than sustaining it.

When David held the precious water from the well by the gate of Bethlehem—drawn at the risk of his mighty men's lives—he refused to indulge his fierce physical thirst. Instead, he poured it out onto the ground as a consecrated offering before the Lord, turning his most craved moment of relief into an act of supreme worship. The blessings bestowed upon us today are never meant to be hoarded for self-  gratification.

  When we willingly pour them back before the Lord in reverent surrender, our hearts are freed from the clamor of self-interest. Only then can we truly bow with a receptive and humble heart, echoing the words of young Samuel: "Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening."
