41~43
M: Did you hear the good news? A big Australian chemical company is going to build a 240-million-dollar plant on the edge of town with a 130-person workforce.
W: Great! Maybe I'll finally be able to find a job and my brother's trucking business will expand.
M: This will mean more tax revenue for the country, and the new high school the community has been taking about can finally be built.
W: I have been dreaming about seeing my son play football in a big new stadium.
44~46
W: I'm looking for a bike in the $300 range. The Green-path bike trail is going to be extended and will be passing right by my office complex, so I thought I would get a little exercise during my lunch break.
M: Yes, I heard the local government is going to ass eight miles to the trail. Well, we have a large selection of bikes and a special on this one right here which has been marked down $75 to $210.
W: I like the color. And the price is right too. I probably should buy a pump and a spare inner tube in case I have a flat.
M: Fine. And you should get a helmet, if you don't have one already.
47~49
M: You work for the hospital that's going to close down, don't you Betty?
W: Yes, I've been a nurse there for 35 years, and now management is telling us they don't have any money left in the pension plan I paid into all those years.
M: I'm in the same situation. My union is negotiating our company pension with the auto parts company I work for. The company wants to cut it by 40 percent so they can save money. If the union doesn't agree, management says they'll file for bankruptcy.
W: Hm...we should see what the Employee Pension Insurance Agency can do for us.
50~52
M: Here's the money I collected from the staff member for the picnic at the company's lake cottage.
W: Thanks, Kenji. Could yu take a look at this game list?
M: Sure, but I'm not any good at games. My interest is racing.
W: That's OK. Just read through the list and see if the directions are clear.
53~55
M: The head of the Japanese consulate in Chicago is going to talk about direct investment in the U.S. tomorrow.
W: Yes. My boss in the economic development department arranged for him to meet the mayor at 10. They're going to discuss the possibility of a Japanese.
M: I understand if they agree, it'll employ at least 300 full-time people. That'll be good news for the community.
W: Yes, and it'll give a dozen researchers and graduate students at the university some part-time work, too.
59~61
W: I have completed the architectural plans for your company's head office solar building, Mr.polaris.
M: How much energy do you estimate this design will save us?
W: My estimate shows a cost saving of 80 percent. If you add roof panels, which would cost an additional 16 percent, you should be totally self-sufficient and independent of the utility company.
M: Great! Let's go with the roof panels. This way when we advertise our engine additive products on TV, people will be able to see that our company is a socially responsible, environmental neighbor.
62~64
M: This is Miguel Sanchez. I bought some travel insurance on the 12th, 10 day ago, from your company for a trip to Germany, and I haven't gotten the policy yet.
W: Could you me your zip code, Mr Sanchez, and the policy number the sails agent gave you at the time of purchase?
M: My zip code is 48104, but I misplaced the policy number. I'm sorry.
W: According my records it was mailed out on the 14th. We sent you a confirmation by e-mail on the 12th with the policy number and emergency phone numbers, so you can print that out, if you don't get it before you leave on your trip.
65~67
W: Did you see that pink striped shirt your boss wearing yesterday?
M: Claudio always says cloths make the man. He heads up PR, so he likes to be seen when he attends trade shows. He appeals to young people, and that is our main market. The more game sales he generates for the company, the bigger our bonuses.
W: But he wore a tiny bathing suit in Las Vegas, and he is about 50 pounds overweight. It's not like he's all muscles.
68~70
M: This is Jimmy Chang with the Westville Times. I hear there was a molten iron spill in your ste디 plant, and a big fire caused some damage. Could you explain the details?
W: Part of the facility has been shut down, bur no one was seriously injured. About 25 percent of the employees will have to be shifted to other jobs or to the cleanup effort.
M: Have government officials arrived on the scene yet?
W: No, the accident was caused by a crane operator's misjudgement. Two people were hurt, but they've been cleared by the hospital.
71~73

This is Dr. Sara Sanchez on WKLI's afternoon, My GOOD HEALTH program, for the next 30 minutes. Wherever you are, stuck in a rush hour traffic jam, sunning yourself next to the swimming pool, or just resting at home, sit back and relax while I give advice on how to keep up your good health. Today I would like to talk about a simple diagnosis for strokes that any person can conduct. There are three steps. Ask the person to smile. Secondly see if they can hold their hands above their head. And lastly, see if they can repeat a tricky sentence. If they can't do these three things, take the person to the hospital immediately. It may save their life. And now for a word from our advertisers.

Thank you for taking time to come to today's luncheon for Dr. Honda. It is not often That we are able to give a 25-tear service award to a Tokyo British Business Chamber member. Dr. Honda's deep interest in facilitating understanding between the British and Japanese business communities has been greatly appreciated by all members. With his studies at Oxford and his background in international finance, he has been the perfect ambassador. He has served as a chairman of the Foreign Investment Committee and has been instrumental in organizing the annual Japanese art auction to raise funds for the international high school exchange program. Unfortunately, he will soon be leaving us to take up a post in indonesia as a director of the Asian Development Bank.

Before we begin our tour, I would like to give you a brief history of the city of Holland. The city was founded by Dutch immigrants in the 1820's. It became a major port town for the forest industry in Michigan and sent lumber to Chicago across Lake Michigan. Today we are known for furniture making, several excellent universities and the tulip bulb industry. WE are also widely known for our many private and church-related retirement communities, which makes us unique. We are going to take a walking tour of the downtown area and local park, then we'll go to the lake to see the lighthouse. Lastly, w will visit the Van Kamp Tulip Farm where you'll be able to see five million tulips in bloom. You can buy bulbs there, and they will ship them to you in the fall for planting.
92~94
Good afternoon. Thank you for letting me speak at this conference on respiratory diseases. My name is Gregory Petroski, and I do research on the effectiveness of filters for air purifiers. I have been retained by Meta Air, an air purifier company, to explain their new line of home purifiers. For the last 20 years, they have specialized in making equipment for the chip and medical instrument industry. This new product they have designed has the highest rating from three independent laboratories of any air purifier on the market, so it is ideal for your patients. If you would like a free DVD and product information to show your patients, please visit the Meta Air booth, at the entrance of the exhibition area.

This is a public announcement from the Department of Natural Resources regarding an infestation of emerald ash borers - an exotic metallic-green beetle that is about an inch long. It was first discovered in the Detroit area in 2002, and is suspected of having entered the country in wooden pallets loaded with heavy equipment from China. Eight to 10 million ash trees have already been killed. Two signs of an infestation are a D-shaped exit hole and heavy woodpecker damage to ash trees. Contact your local DNR representative if you see these signs. If your area is quarantined, you may have to cut down the trees and burn them. Do not remove the wood from your property. Infestations can be controlled through the use of insecticides with department approval.

Welcome to this year's Avar Golf Tournament. We would like to thank all of the members of the Applelton Golf Club and employees from Avar who are serving as volunteers this week. Without your help, this tournament would never be possible. The purpose of this meeting is to go over the security measures. There are 100 members in the security detail. All of you can be identified by the red plastic identification cards you have been given. Wear these around your neck at all times. You have each been assigned to your respective holes and are asked to keep the spectators behind the ropes. Everyone has two-way communication devices. If you have a major problem, contact the local police on-site at 219. The lunchtime cafeteria is located in the big green tent put up next to the clubhouse. Enjoy yourselves. Thank you.
