[틈틈이 영어공부] These are out of sight.

- 영한 : (물건 값·표준이) 매우/터무니없이 높다, (어떤 것이) 너무 비싸다.

- 영영 : extremely expensive and more than you are able to spend

- 다른 의미 : 보이지 않는 곳에 두다, 그림자도 볼수없다, (미국속어)매우 뛰어나다/멋지다.

※Leave any valuables in your car out of sight. (차 안의 귀중품은 모두 눈에 보이지 않는 곳에 두어라.)

※He was careful to keep out of sight. (그는 눈에 띄지 않도록 조심했다)

- 예문 : 

The price of that BMW is out of sight.
BMW는 너무 비싸다.

[기억할만한 표현]
▶ look around: (가계 등에서) 둘러보다

▶ out of (one’s) price range: 너무 비싸 살 수가 없다.
“That house is expensive but I don’t think it’s out of our price range.” 
(저 집은 가격이 높지만 우리가 못 살 정도도 아니야.)

▶ like (one’s) style: (어떤 사람의) 옷 입는 방식이 마음에 들다.
“I like her style because her clothes always look good on her.” 
(그 여자 스타일이 좋더라. 옷이 항상 잘 어울려.)
