Know the difference between the wages of sin and the gifts of God (Romans 6:20-23)
In my own way, I was greatly disappointed after listening to a sermon by a pastor of a church that young people like in Korean churches and is considered a healthy church.
In terms of the content, it is said that Peter, who was a fisherman, met the Lord, and the word of the Lord, that you will become a fisher of men in the future, became a great pride.
And, 'Jesse's youngest son, David, was a son whom his father did not take seriously, but the word that he was called and anointed as king of Israel' also gave him great pride.
Perhaps the believers in the church who heard this message received the grace with great pride.
It's really embarrassing to see the pitiful figure who is talking like a child's prank, unaware of the amazing impact that is happening to him because the word of God has come to him.
Romans 6 is the word in which, through the baptism that unites us with the Lord's redemptive death and resurrection, our belong changes from being dead in Adam to being alive in Christ, master is changed, and now even our inclinations are gradually changing.
Q. What fruit did you get when you were in the midst of sin in Adam?
“What fruit had you then in those things whereof you are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.” (Romans 6:21)
A. Paul is stating the gospel symmetrically between Adam and Christ.
The reason why we must become servants of righteousness in Christ is to taste the power of Christ's life.
So, what kind of existence is death? Just as life is existence and real energy, death and Hades are definite beings, so they will later enter the lake of fire.(Revelation 20:14)
On that side, after the false prophet and the antichrist, there is the devil and Satan, and death is the highest.
When this death comes to me, the phenomenon that appears is that life is dry and there is no taste to live at all.
Most of the people who are much older than their years have suffered for a long time as the servants of death.
To have death is to live with a grenade.
When I was in a Muslim area, a bodyguard always followed me with an M16, 45 caliber pistol and grenades, but he always looked around with a nervous and anxious look.
I'm free with nothing, but he always spent his anxious days with heavy weight.
Since all human beings in Adam are slaves to death, there is no need to mention the fruit.
Q. What kind of fruit do you bear now that you are in Christ?
“But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, you have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.” (Romans 6:22)
A. Christian strength begins with holiness.
When Joshua entered the land of Canaan, he was received into holiness and took off his shoes.
Peter said, " as he which has called you is holy, so be holy in all you manner of conversation; (1 Pet 1:15)
"Because it is written, Be you holy; for I am holy.(1 Peter 1:16)
If he does not know repentance and baptism, which are united to the redemptive grace of Christ's cross, he will still endure in sin and death and voluntarily strive to reach holiness.
The Lord, as the Holy One (singular), through his death and resurrection destroyed the devil who held the power of death, took away from him, and released those who were made holy (plural) (Hebrews 2:11,14-15)
As a result, we have been set free from sin.
Becoming a servant of God, our belonging has changed.
The end is eternal life.
It says that the end of faith is the salvation of the soul. (1 Pet 1:9)
When we become one with God through Jesus Christ, eternal life is infinitely supplied.
So, the parable of the vine and branches best expresses the state of eternal life. (John 15)
To those who believe in the Lord, the river of living water overflows, and after finding the meaning of life, knowing the truth, finding the food of heaven, and living while looking at the glory of heaven is the blessing of a true Christian.
This kind of life brings glory to God and great joy to us.
As much as our life is given to God, its value changes.
If we work for his glory, won't God give us glory?
Q. How am I being treated right now?
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
A. If you have faith in Christ, you have eternal life.
The wages of sin is always death.
That is the principle of spirit.
God's gift (gift), that is given from God is eternal life.
When I went to study in the United States, the question I asked James Kennedy was how the American church treats the gift of eternal life in our Lord Jesus Christ.
He couldn't answer because he was talking about other gifts.
If it is eternal life, they only have the concept of living forever with eternal life, so they only think about living forever without seeing death, but they overlook the fact that it is the present gift of God.
No. The person who has received this gift becomes an act of preaching the gospel because of the power of eternal life.
Those who can preach the gospel are those who have definitely received and tasted the gift of eternal life.
The gift of eternal life is the joy of salvation and the thrill of salvation.
Being able to convey that happiness to others is not an ordinary blessing.
Not just anyone is doing this.
God's call and gift that called us from Adam into Christ are not regretted or spared.
However, there are many people who try to get ahead of God's thoughts because of their faith, self-concept, and self-consciousness.
In this case, it is like saying that God gives pride.
In Luke 15, which we know well, who loves it more when the son returns home?
In fact, the father likes it more than the returning son.
People are too busy thinking about this or that feeling that comes to their heart, so they cannot fathom God's joy for me.
In this Romans, salvation must be believed as an existential and always living present event through Jesus Christ.
Life is present, and death is also present.
Heaven and hell are always real and present.
Do not forget, believe that eternal life in our Lord Jesus Christ is a gift from God, and continue to return to Him and grow closer in Him.
Your concepts and false beliefs must not diminish Heavenly Father.
He has already crucified his son, Jesus Christ, as he promised, and has called us to this place and pursued us.
What more could he spare who gave his son to us?
What would God hesitate to do?
Will God reject us in Christ?
No, It's just that we don't receive it because we don't seek him out.
If you want to learn how to find the Lord, study for a long time.
Even today, when we go out to the Lord with an earnest heart like ‘Lord, if you turn away from me, where will I go?’, ‘I have nowhere to go but You’, I am sure that the gift of eternal life in our Lord Jesus Christ will fill us.
