2026.9.4(금) 오늘의 말씀카드, 365묵상글, 예산수정교회

1. 오늘의 묵상칼럼 : 나는 내 것이 아닙니다

“사무엘이 자라매 여호와께서 그와 함께 계셔서 그의 말이 하나도 땅에 떨어지지 않게 하시니”
(사무엘상 3장 19절)

“그들은 아버지의 것이었는데 내게 주셨으며 그들은 아버지의 말씀을 지키었나이다”
(요한복음 17장 6절)

오스왈드 챔버스는 우리에게 이렇게 도전합니다.

“나는 내 것이 아닙니다. 온전히 주님의 것이 되십시오.”

  우리는 흔히 내 인생의 주인이 나 자신이라고 생각합니다. 내 시간, 내 건강, 내 재능, 내 계획, 내 미래라고 말합니다. 그러나 예수님은 제자들을 향해 “그들은 아버지의 것이었다”고 말씀하십니다. 우리의 존재는 처음부터 우리의 것이 아니었습니다. 우리는 하나님께 속한 사람이며, 하나님께서 우리에게 맡기신 삶을 살아가는 존재입니다.

   사무엘의 삶도 그러했습니다. 어린 사무엘이 하나님의 음성을 들었을 때 그는 자신의 생각이나 계획보다 하나님의 말씀에 귀를 기울였습니다. 그리고 그가 자라면서 여호와께서 그와 함께하셨습니다. 하나님께서 함께하신 사무엘의 삶에서는 그의 말이 하나도 땅에 떨어지지 않았습니다. 이것은 사무엘이 특별히 뛰어난 사람이었기 때문만이 아니라, 그의 삶과 말이 자신을 드러내는 데 사용된 것이 아니라 하나님의 말씀을 담아내는 그릇이 되었기 때문입니다.

오늘 우리에게도 가장 중요한 질문은 이것입니다.

“나는 누구의 것인가?”

  내 삶이 정말 나의 것이라고 생각하면 우리는 모든 것을 내가 결정하고, 내가 책임지고, 내가 이루어야 한다는 부담 속에서 살아갑니다. 그러나 “나는 주님의 것입니다”라고 고백하는 순간 삶의 방향이 달라집니다.

  내 시간도 주님의 것이고, 내 재능도 주님의 것이며, 내가 만나는 사람들도 주님께서 맡기신 사람들입니다. 심지어 내가 지나가는 어려움과 풍랑의 순간까지도 주님께서 주권적으로 이끌어 가시는 삶의 일부임을 믿게 됩니다.

  사무엘이 위대한 선지자가 된 비결은 먼저 하나님께 속한 사람이 된 데 있었습니다. 하나님께 속한 사람이 하나님의 말씀을 듣고, 하나님의 말씀을 따라 살아갈 때 하나님께서는 그 삶을 사용하십니다.

오늘도 우리의 입술로 이렇게 고백하면 좋겠습니다.

“주님, 나는 내 것이 아닙니다. 나는 주님의 것입니다.
나의 시간도, 나의 계획도, 나의 미래도 주님께 드립니다.
오늘 내가 주님의 말씀을 지키며 살아가게 하시고,
나의 삶을 통하여 주님의 뜻이 땅에 떨어지지 않고 이루어지게 하소서.”

나는 내 것이 아닙니다.
그러므로 오늘도 나 자신을 위해 사는 것이 아니라,
온전히 주님의 것으로 살아가십시오.

2. 오늘의 묵상칼럼(영어버전) : I Am Not My Own

“So Samuel grew, and the Lord was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground.”
(1 Samuel 3:19)

“They were Yours; You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.”
(John 17:6)

Oswald Chambers gives us this challenging reminder:

“I am not my own. Become wholly His.”

 We often live as though we are the owners of our own lives. We say, “My time, my health, my talents, my plans, my future.” Yet Jesus said of His disciples, “They were Yours.” Before we belonged to ourselves, we belonged to God. Our lives are not ultimately our own possessions; they are lives entrusted to us by the One to whom we belong.

 Samuel’s life reveals this truth beautifully. When the young Samuel heard the voice of God, he learned to listen. As he grew, the Lord was with him, and none of his words fell to the ground. Samuel’s life was not powerful simply because of his own ability. His life became effective because he was willing to become a vessel through which God’s word could be spoken.

The most important question for us today is this:

“Whom do I belong to?”

  If we believe that our lives belong entirely to ourselves, we carry the burden of controlling everything—our plans, our future, and our success. But when we confess, “I belong to the Lord,” the direction of our lives begins to change.

My time belongs to Him.
My talents belong to Him.
My plans belong to Him.
Even the people I meet and the difficulties I face are within the sovereign care of God.

  Samuel became a great prophet because, before anything else, he belonged to God. When a person who belongs to God listens to His word and lives according to it, God can use that life for His purposes.

May this be our confession today:

“Lord, I am not my own. I belong to You.
My time, my plans, and my future are Yours.
Help me to keep Your word today.
May Your purpose be fulfilled through my life,
and may the words You speak through me never fall to the ground.”

I am not my own.
Therefore, today I will not live merely for myself.
I will live wholly as the Lord’s.
