원문 Food/Eating/Cooking In this movie, food was a reminder of the difference between the reality of the matrix and the real world. While the food in the matrix was better tasting or more plentiful, it is still isn't real. Cooking for someone else is representive of a desire to influence them. (The Oracle wants Neo to listen to what she has to say and some may say that she manipulates his actions.) The book "The Secret Language of Dreams" also states that "If the emphasis is upon the food itself [as is the case with the Oracle and her cookies], the underlying meaning may be the dreamer's desire to mould some truth or insight into a more palatable form." The Oracle [to Neo]: "Oh, don't worry about it. Here, take a cookie. I promise, by the time you're done eating it, you'll feel right as rain." (Note that the word "cookie" happens to be a computer term as well. The cookie is also symbolic here of being nourishment for for the mind as well as the body so it could stand for communion, too.) Cypher [to Agent Smith]: "You know, I know that this steak doesn't exit. I know that when I put it in my mouth, the matrix is telling my brain that it is juicy and delicious. After nine years, you know what I realize? Ignorance is bliss." Mouse: "Do you know what it reminds me of? Tasty Wheat." Dozer: "It's a single cell protein combined with synthetic aminos, vitamins, and minerals. Everything the body needs." Neo [to Cypher]: "Thanks for the drink." Cypher [to Trinity]: "I don't remember you ever bringing me dinner." Neo: "There is no spoon." The Oracle [to Neo]: "Oh, what is really going to bake your noodle later on is, would you still have broken it if I hadn't said anything?" Neo: "I used to eat there. Really good noodles." Mouse: "Maybe what I think Tasty Wheat tasted like actually tasted like oatmeal or Tuna Fish. Makes you wonder about a lot of things.
