아모스4:4-13 하나님 만나기를 준비하라

암4:4

자기 만족적, 자기도취적 신앙에서 헤어나기가 어려운 것 같아요. 자기 자신마저 속이기 때문입니다. 다 잃기 전에는 그 착각에서 빠져나오려고 하지 않습니다. 북이스라엘은 경제만 아니라 종교 또한 번성했지만 경건의 모양에만 취해 있을 뿐 참된 회개도, 순종도 찾아 볼 수 없었습니다. 내가 알기로는 남을 속이기 위해서는 자신부터 철저하게 속여야합니다. 더군다나 하나님을 속이려면 더욱 집요하게 자신을 설득해야 하지요. 그러나 정직하지 못한 마음, 위선적인 삶의 가장 큰 피해자는 자기 자신입니다. 

I think it's hard to get out of this self satisfying, narcissistic faith. It's because you deceive yourself. You don't try to escape the illusion until you lose everything. North Israel has flourished not only in economy but also in religion, but also in the form of godliness, you have never been able to find true repentance or obedience. To deceive others, you must deceive yourself first. To deceive God, you must persuade yourself more persistently. However, the biggest victim of an dishonest and hypocritical life is yourself.

자신을 포기하면서 얻은 것이 그 무엇인들 그것이 축복일 리 없습니다. 내가 기뻐하는 것이 반드시 나를 기쁘게 하는 것도 아닙니다. 기뻐하는 것보다 훨씬 더 쓰라린 결과를 준다면 나는 심지어 내 감정에게마저 솔직하지 못한 것입니다. 이스라엘이 그랬습니다. 하나님께서 자신의 영적 현주소를 제대로 진단 하도록 숱하게 기회를 주셨는데도 그들은 속임수의 삶을 고수했습니다. 그러나 하나님은 다시 한 번 이스라엘을 향해서 자신을 만날 준비를 하라고 일러주십니다.

What I gained by giving up on myself, it can't be a blessing. It doesn't necessarily make me happy. If you give me a much more bitter result than happy, I can't even be honest with my feelings. Israel did. Even though God gave me many opportunities to properly diagnose my spiritual status, they stuck to a life of deception. But God once again tells Israel to be ready to meet him.

아모스 4장은 아모스 선지자의 두 번째 설교로써 상류 계층에 대한 심판의 예언 및 거듭된 북 이스라엘 백성들의 회개의 거부를 다루고 있습니다. 특히 4장에서 아모스 선지자는 이스라엘 백성들의 하나님 앞에서 범한 죄악들 중에 세 가지를 구체적으로 소개하고 있습니다. 1-3절에서는 사회적인 부패상을 소개하고, 4-5절에서는 형식적인 예배에 대해서,그리고 6-11절에서는 회개할 줄 모르는 이스라엘 백성들의 죄를 다루고 있습니다. 

Prophet Amos' second sermon, Chapter 4, deals with the prophecy of judgment against the upper class and the repeated rejection of repentance by the people of North Israel. In particular, in Chapter 4, Prophet Amos introduces three of the sins committed before the God of the Israelites. Sections 1-3 introduce the image of social corruption, Sections 4-5 deal with formal worship, and Sections 6-11 deal with the sins of the unrepentant Israeli people.

얼마나 속이 상하셨는지 하나님께서는 이스라엘에게 벧엘에서 금송아지를 만들어 놓고 여호와라 부르며 제사하던 일을 계속해보라고 하십니다. 길갈에서 제사하여 죄를 더하고 아침마다 희생을, 삼 일마다 십일조를 드리는 엄청난 열정을 발휘해보라고 하십니다. 이것은 이스라엘 자신이 기뻐하는 것일 뿐 결코 하나님과는 상관없는 헛된 일 임이 드러날 것입니다. 하나님의 뜻을 따르지 않고 죄를 멈추지 않은 채 드리는 종교행위를 받지 않으시기 때문입니다. 

How upset he was, God told Israel to make a golden calf in Beth el, call it Jehovah, and continue the work he was offering. He said to perform a great deal of passion by sacrificing sin in Gilgal, adding sacrifice every morning, and giving 11 trillion won every three days. This will prove to be nothing to do with God, but to be happy for Israel himself. Because he does not follow God's will and does not accept religious practices that do not stop sin.

이스라엘은 거창한 제의로 자기 실체를 감추고 자기 정당화만 강화했습니다. 정치 지도자들은 백성들의 예루살렘 제사를 막음으로써 정치적인 부담을 덜려고 우상숭배를 조장하였습니다. 하지만 그들의 기쁨이던 것들이 하나님께는 혐오의 대상입니다. 과시하고 인정받기 위해 성소를 밟았고, 불의를 중단하지 않은 채 바알에게 하듯 하나님의 분노를 잠재울 수 있다고 착각하면서 재물을 바쳤지만, 죄를 더하는 것에 불과했습니다. 이스라엘은 제사는 드렸지만 하나님께 돌아오지는 않았습니다. 

Israel concealed itself with grand offerings and only strengthened its justification. By preventing the people from performing in Jerusalem, political leaders promoted idolatry to lessen the political burden. But to God, what was their joy is an object of disgust. He stepped on the sanctuary to show off and be recognized, and gave his wealth, mistaking it as a way to calm God's anger, as he did to Baal without stopping injustice, but it was nothing but sin. Israel offered sacrifices but did not return to God.

벧엘은 찾았으나 하나님은 찾지 않았습니다. 언약에 적시된 대로 불순종한 자에게 내리겠다고 하신 기근, 가뭄, 재해, 질병, 지진 같은 저주의 재앙을 보내셨는데도 악한 마음을 꺾지 않았습니다. 여전히 의지할 재물이 있었고 죄책감을 감출 종교적 제의들도 있었고 신학적으로 위안을 삼을만한 성전과 선민의식도 있었기 때문입니다. 허나, 하나님은 뭐든 다 아십니다. 아모스 선지자는 이와 같은 이스라엘의 죄악들을 증거 한 후에 “네 하나님 만나기를 예비하라(12)”고 말씀하고 있습니다. 

Bethel was found, but God was not. He sent the curse disasters of famine, drought, disaster, disease, and earthquake, which he promised to impose on the disobedient, but he did not break his evil heart. He still had wealth to rely on, religious offerings to hide his guilt, and a temple and a sense of the good people to take theological comfort. However, God knows everything. After proving these sins of Israel, Prophet Amos says, "Prepare to meet your God (12)."

지금까지 온갖 재앙을 통하여서도 그들이 주님께도 돌이키지 아니하니 이제는 주님께서 친히 나타나신답니다. 이 말씀은 지금까지 엄청난 재앙들이란 다 예고편에 불과한 것이라는 말씀입니다. 더 엄청난 심판의 행위가 있을 것이기에 여호와 만나기를 예비 하라는 것입니다. 주님의 경고적인 재앙과 심판들에는 언제나 긍휼이 있었습니다. 그러나 최종적인 주님의 나타나심은 모든 것이 최종 확정이기에 그때를 대비하여 지금 회개하고 주께로 돌이키라는 것입니다. 

Since they have not turned to the Lord through all kinds of disasters so far, the Lord is now appearing in person. This means that all the great disasters so far are just a preview. There will be even more tremendous acts of judgment, so be prepared to meet Jehovah. There has always been mercy on the Lord's warning disasters and judgments. But the final Lord's appearance is that everything is final, so repent now and turn to the Lord.

거짓된 안전이나 거짓된 확신에 속지 말라는 것입니다. 자신의 사회적이고 종교적인 행위들을 신뢰하지 말라는 것입니다. 오직 여호와 만나기를 예비하라는 것입니다. 이것이 구약의 선지자들의 외침입니다. 그 약속대로 드디어 메시아가 왔습니다. 그러나 아무도 영접하지 않았습니다. 그들이 원하는 메시아란 선지자들이 그렇게 고발한 힘과 권력을 더 보태어 주는 메시아를 기다린 것입니다. 그러나 영접 하는 자들이 있었으니 이들은 혈통과 육정과 사람의 뜻이 아니라 하나님께로 난자들 입니다.

Don't be deceived by false safety or false conviction. Don't trust your social and religious practices. Only be prepared to meet Jehovah. This is the cry of the Old Testament prophets. As that promise, the Messiah finally came. But no one received it. They waited for the Messiah to add more power and power that the prophets of the Messiah they wanted accused. But there were those who received them, so these were eggs to God, not blood, breaststroke, and human will.

이들은 심령이 가난하고 중심에 통회하며 예수 그리스도를 믿는 자들로 나타난 것입니다. 이제는 이 예수님이 주와 그리스도가 되셔서 심판주로 재림하실 것입니다. 그러므로 이제는 예수 그리스도를 만날 준비를 하면서 살라는 것입니다. 이분은 창조주가 되시고, 자기를 계시하셨고, 우주 만물을 다스리고 섭리하시며, 높은 데를 밟으시는 분, 즉 심판주로 오실 분(13)이십니다. 나는 듣고 있는가? 하나님께로 돌아오는 데 가장 큰 장애물은 무엇인가?

They appeared as poor, repentant at the center, and believers in Jesus Christ. Now this Jesus will become the Lord and Christ and reign as the Lord of Judgment. Therefore, now live while preparing to meet Jesus Christ. This is the creator, the one who has himself, who rules and obeys all things in the universe, and who will come to the high place, that is, the Lord of Judgment (13). Am I listening? What is the biggest obstacle to returning to God?

재앙과 깜부기(9b)

재앙으로 너희를 쳤으며(9c)

팥중이로(9d)

포도원과 무화과나무와 감람나무를(9f)

돌아오지 아니하였느니라(9i)

순종 없는 공허한 제의_an empty offer without obedience_

회개 없는 무익한 제의_an unrepentant and useless offer_
심판을 면할 유일한 길_the only way to escape judgment_

성령 하나님께서 우리에게 은혜를 주셔서 우리에게 종말의 영을 허락하여 주시기를 원합니다. 그리하여 이 세상의 역사가 영원하지 않으며 불타 없어지기 위해 보존되고 있음을 알게 하여 주소서. 순종 없는 제사를 받지 않으시는 주님, 하나님의 뜻을 따르는 것이 참된 회개인 줄 압니다. 여러 차례 주시는 회개의 기회를 붙잡아 다시 만날 주님과 기쁨으로 대면하게 하소서. 크고 엄위하신 주께서 직접 대면을 선포하셨으니 내 소위를 살피게 하시고 하나님 만나기를 예비 하게 하옵소서. 매일 드리는 예배뿐 아니라 매주 드리는 예배를 위해 목숨을 걸게 하시어 아직도 못 버리고 있는 사치와 향락 보다 예배가 더 좋은 기다림이 되어 지게 만들어 주옵소서.

I want the Holy Spirit God to grant us the Spirit of the End by giving us grace. Thus, let us know that the history of this world is not eternal and is preserved to burn down. Lord, who does not receive obedient offerings, I know that it is true repentance to follow God's will. seize the opportunity to repent and face the Lord with joy to meet again. The great and stern Lord has declared face-to face, so let me examine my lieutenant and prepare to meet God. Let him risk his life not only for daily worship but also for weekly worship, making worship a better wait than the luxury and pleasure that he still has not thrown away.
