9>What is the life of a person who has gained righteousness? <Summary> <Rom5:9-10>
November 16, 2025 <Thanksgiving> Rev. Kim Ho-il of Osaka's beloved church.
It means that today, after finishing chapter 4 of Rom, it comes into chapter 5 and starts with the words "So, it is connected to chapter 4 of Rom." <Rom 4:25>Jesus has risen to life for the sake of our crimes and for the sake of our righteousness. This means that Jesus died of blood on the cross to forgive our sins and survived to do us justice. Therefore, we must believe in the blood of Jesus' cross and repent of our sins. We must also believe that Jesus' resurrection has earned us righteousness. This means that when you first believe, you are righteous. Therefore, faith is to believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus' cross. And in chapter 5 of Rom, those who have entered and received righteousness explain that these privileges and benefits exist.
<Rom 5:1>So let us enjoy peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, who we have gained righteousness through faith. This word is not an emphasis on how to live after saying that we have gained righteousness by faith. It is a record of the privileges or benefits of those who have received righteousness. What are we as those who have received righteousness? It emphasized what benefits a person who has gained righteousness can receive and what can be expected. In the second half of the first verse, he emphasized that we should enjoy peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. In other words, we can live a life of peace because we used to be God and enemies before believing in Jesus, but now we can enjoy peace with God. We were God and enemies before believing in them. We gained righteousness because we welcomed Jesus as a Savior as a king and a master.
Therefore, now that we have a peace with God, we must have a peace of peace. By believing in Jesus Christ, we not only gain eternal life, but we are also blessed on this earth while we are alive. It is peace. But how did we become reconciled with God when we were enemies and God. <Rom 5:10>When we soon became enemies, we became harmonious with God through the death of our son, that is, those who became harmonious with God will be saved even more through his survival. This means that the death of Jesus Christ, the son of God, has made it possible for us, who were enemies, to have peace with God.
In other words, Jesus died on the cross to reconcile us with God. Therefore, you must believe that Jesus, who harmonizes, is now harmonious with God.
<Rom 5:2>It is also because we have been accepted by this grace in which we stand in faith, and we hope and enjoy God's glory. This means that we have become a person who can move forward and stand before God because we have become harmonious with God and have a good relationship with him. Because of Jesus, we have been given the wonderful privilege of going before God by faith and interacting with him.
In verse 2, "Joy" means that the resurrected Lord must be with us and have joy and pleasure in his ability to help us. There are three reasons why we should enjoy the joy. In verse 1>2, hope for and enjoy God's glory. 2>Joy for being transformed into a personality that resembles Christ.
3>The third is hope. To win a life of faith, you have to have a wish to meet Jesus.
