Barracuda Bait University Part 1 | How to throw a cast net
https://youtu.be/9FOIxOBJNlQ
Hey Everyone.
Button you up with Barracuda tackle
this is the first video in a series that we're calling bait University since it's the first video
it's gonna be on how to throw a cast net
captain Will Osborne is going to teach you the triple load
The triple load is the easiest way to throw a cast net
it requires a least effort once you get it down
once you want to find out a load
the net once you get the swing of the net down
you'll always throw a triple
Otis it's gonna make sure it opens up in a perfect pancake every time
and it really doesn't wear you out
you use more of the leads to actually open up the cast net
take a look at the video
watch it even if you already know how to throw
we've had guys who've been throwing for 20 years who then see this modified
triple load
and go to it it's now their go-to throw every time they throw net
take a look at it
watch the video up
you're fishing game and have a great day
hey guys captain will Osborne here
fishing out of Cortez Florida today
I'm going to show you how I throw a cast net
works pretty good for me
my family's been fishing out of Cortez for about a hundred and fifty years
and I've been throwing a cast net since I was me
knee-high to a grasshopper
first step
you want to do is take the rope
coil it up in like two foot sections like that
then you want to grab your horn
pull your horn up
a lot of
a lot of mistake
people make is they grab up here by the horn
you don't need to do that
this is a 12-foot net
you only need to grab the net twice
grab about three foot down from the horn like that
let it lay over
I grabbed the net with my left hand
if you do it with your right hand just do the exact opposite of what I'm looking at
you want your fist straight up and down like that
once you do that then you grab about waist-high
grab it straight up and down like that
just like that now you're ready to go
today I'm teaching you the triple load technique for the LEDs
take the right side of the net or the left side
and you get
you get you a good amount about like that
and here's the tricky part
you take it like that
and you go under your arm and over your shoulders like that
peeping pressure down with the hand that's holding that net
will keep it on your shoulder
if you get it loose it'll fall off your shoulder
so keep that in mind once you do that you take your your outside legs that come off your shoulder
take this outside lead and you split, split your legs it's hanging it's like that
little tangle there it goes
once you split your net
I drop it over my knee like this
now here's a family secret
take your lead line on the right or left
and you grab it with your pinky
a lot of people use their pointer and their thumb if it works for you works for you
but I take my pinky grab it like that
and then grab the rest of your neck right here
now that's how you get the triple load
I got a third in my right hand a third in my left hand and a third on my shoulder
and now to open it without spinning
a lot of people get messed up
and they go forward with it and back
that's not how you want to do it
you want to take this net and go out off of you back behind you
all right today we're going to be teaching Ashley how to throw a 10-foot cast net
what you want to do is you put the loop on your wrist
make sure you snug it down
last thing you want to do is throw it and let it come off your wrist
all right you want to do two foot coils with the rope
just like that
just like that
and you want to get pull it up to the brail there
don't need to grab right here
you want to grab like three foot down just like that
you want your you want your wrists and your fist straight up and down like that
there you go and now you want to double it over one time at about waist high yep
that looks good all right
now here's where it gets tricky start on the right side of your net
there you want to pull out just a little chunk of net about that much
no you got a Braille yeah
you got a Braille there
there you go
that looks good
now here's the tricky part
once you got it out like that
you go under your arm and over your shoulder
yeah there you go
now if you keep pressure on your wrist right there
it'll keep it on your shoulder a lot easier
now you want to grab this leg coming off the right side of the net there
and split your legs down there at the bottom
you just kind of flick your hand up
and go and grab it once again stop and throw it again
there you go oh one a little one
there you go right about there
now stick your leg out and drop it over your right knee there
make sure we don't have any tangles
always want to be aware
and make sure there's no tangles once you do that
you take your lead line and grab it with your pinky right there
right by your hip
and then you grab that all the webbing
right there with your other three fingers and now you've got it now
you've got it set now when you go to throw it
you want to bounce it off of you behind you
and let it let it fly like that
a lot of people are gonna they kind of
swing it back and forth you know two in
the front and back you don't need to do
that just right off of you behind you
and let it fly

I have been getting lots of questions about how I throw my cast net, so I thought it would be cool to show everyone how to do it. Its pretty easy once you get the hang of prepping the net. Just make sure there are no tangles and try not to muscle the net or over throw it. Let the leads do the work for you. Please leave a comment if you have any questions about this method. Thanks for watching and subscribing as always and I want to thank all the new subscribers who just joined I really appreciate it. Tight Lines!
