[모닝동이]

 9월의 마지막 날엔 맥주 한잔으로 아쉬움을 채웠지요. 세월의 흐름에 덧없음을 같이 느껴줄  벗이 있기에 다행스러웠습니다. 긴 세월을 함께 하면서 서로에게 조금씩 익숙해졌지만 아직은 그다지 물리지 않고, 가끔씩 떨림이 느껴지기도 하고, 또 더러는 든든한 후견인이기도 한 벗입니다. 처음엔 누구나 그러다 후일엔 서로 증오만 남게 되는 애증의 사이가 되기도 한다기에 걱정이 될 때도 있지만, 먼 훗날의 일이 되기를 바라거나 아니면 나에게는 일어날 일이 아니기를 바라기도 하지요. 지금 이 순간 오랜 만남을 이어가는 모든 분들을 위해 건배하고 싶습니다.

게으름이 치유되지 못하고 다시 몸 어디에서 자리를 트는지 한 달이 되어서야 글을 또 씁니다.

남편은 TV에 낭만적인 광고가 나오면 화를 내는데 그런 광고에서는 남자가 아내를 위해 아내가 자는 동안 보석을 올려놓거나, 저녁 식사 자리에서 특별한 선물을 꺼내는 등 달콤한 행동을 하지요. 남편은 실제 남성들은 그런 광고에 묘사된 사람들과는 다르기 때문에 그런 광고는 남자들에게 죄책감을 준다고 생각해요.

My husband are mad at the romantic commercials on TV which usually portrait a man who put the jewelery on the table while his wife were sleeping or give special gift for their wives . He insists those commercials make men guility since those people on commercials are not real.

My husband gets aggravated with romantic commercials on television -- the ones where men do sweet things for their wives, like putting jewelry on them while they sleep, or pulling out that special gift at the dinner table. He says the commercials try to make men feel guilty because they aren't like the ones portrayed.

직접 조사를 해보진 않았지만, 대부분의 남자들이 여자의 마음을 사로잡는 법을 알고 있다고 생각해요. 그리고 그것이 인류가 지금까지 종족을 보존해 올 수 있었던 이유기도 하고요. 하지만 부인 남편 말도 일리가 있어요. 선물이 누군가를 자신이 특별한 사람이고, 사랑을 받는다고 느끼게 해주기 위한 유일한 방법은 아니니까요.

Even theough there are not suitable statistics about it,  I think most of men know how to be attracted to women. That's also the reason we human beings could bring ourselves until up to now .  However, what your husband says is right as well. Present is not the ony way to make someone feel special or loved.

 Although I haven't taken a poll, I'm guessing that a majority of men know how to sweep a woman off her feet -- which is why the species has survived. However, your husband has a point. Gifts are not the only way to make someone special feel loved.

컴퓨터 친구들에게 "정크" 메일을 보내지 말라고 말하는 방법에 대해 조언해주세요. 저희 부부는 저희가 받는 연쇄 편지, 농담, 만화, 개인 의견이 담긴 편지, 귀여운 척하는 사진 등에 신물이 나요. 읽지도 않지만 삭제하는 데만도 시간이 많이 걸려요.

Please advise me how to stop receiving Junk mails from computer unknown  friends.

My husband and I are sick and  tired of those mails which contain love letters, jokes, cartoons, individual opinions, cute pictures don`t look cute, etc.

We don`t read but there need lots of time to delete.

Will you please advise me on how to tell our computer friends not to send " junk" e-mail? My husband and I are annoyed with all the chain letters, jokes, cartoons, opinion letters, cutesy pictures, etc. we are receiving. I don't bother to read them, but deleting them is time-consuming.

부인이 너무 정중했던 것 같네요. 보다 분명하고 구체적으로 말할 필요가 있어요. 원치 않는 이메일에는 보낸 사람에게 답장을 해서 이러한 종류의 "놀이"에는 관심이 없다고 하세요. 결국, 친구들도 부인의 말 뜻을 이해할 겁니다.

제 고민은 다른 사람의 말을 잘 듣는 기술을 잃어버렸다는 거에요. 누군가 말할 때 요점을 말할 때까지 오래 걸리거나 쓸데 없는 말을 하면, 저는 인내심을 완전히 잃어버려요. 저는 매일 똑같은 여성 몇 명과 의료 관련 일을 하고 있는데 저는 제가 하는 일을 좋아해요. 하지만 저는 제가 별로 관심도 없는 일에 대한 지루하고 평범한 수다를 피하기 위해 일부러 "지나치게 바쁘게" 지내고 있다는 사실을 깨달았어요.

My big worry is that I have lost the skills to listen others well. When someone takes too long time to get into the point or talking worthless words, I completely lose my patience. I work everday for some bussiness related to medical with several women coworkers and I like my work. But I realize that I am intentionally "excessively busy" in order to avoid tedious and humdrum talks about things that I am not interested in.

My problem is, I have lost the art of listening. When someone takes too long to get to the point, or includes irrelevant details, I completely lose patience. I work in a medical office with the same small group of women every day, and I like my job. However, I find myself trying to keep " extra busy"  to avoid the boring, mundane chatter about things I don't care about.

Am I becoming an anti-social snob? Otherwise, is there any way to join a conversation, suppressing an impulse to push others, rolling eyes and using hands. I'm not that talkative, and I seldom talk about my personal life in detail.--That's why I don't care about others' private life any more. Is it wrong?

Now I had enough room to do so and I visited Elly to suggest I tell her about the difference between us in person but she said that it was too burdensome. She told me she was doing such a thing for me and both of us as well. I am missing Elly so much. Even though I am keeping on thinking about her, I don't want her to feel suffocated and to harbor a grudge against me. Is something else which looks different happening?
