Bible Reading - John 8:1~10

8:1 But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. 그러나 예수께서 감람(올리브)산으로 가셨다.

8:2 At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, 새벽에 그는 성전 마당에 다시 나타나셨고

where all the people gathered around him, 모든 사람들이 그의 주변에 모였다.

and he sat down to teach them. 그리고 그는 그들을 가르치시려고 앉으셨다.

8:3 The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. 

율법 교사들과 바리새인들이 간음 중에 붙잡힌 여자를 데려왔다.

They made her stand before the group 그들은 그녀를 사람들 앞에 서게했다.

8:4 and said to Jesus, "Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery.

그리고 예수께 말하기를 "선생님, 이 여자가 간음을 행하다가 붙잡혔습니다.

8:5 In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. 

율법에서 모세는 우리가 그런 여자에게 돌을 던지도록 명령했습니다.

Now what do you say?"지금 당신은 뭐라고 말씀하시겠습니까?

8:6 They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.

그들은 예수님을 고소하기 위한 기초를 가지기 위해 함정으로서 이 질문을 사용하고 있었다.

But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger.

그러나 예수께서는 몸을 굽혀 앉으셔서 손가락으로 땅위에 쓰시기 시작하셨다.

8:7 When they kept on questioning him, 그들이 그에게 질문하기를 계속할 때

he straightened up(몸을 일으켰다) and said to them, 그는 몸을 일으켜서 그들에게 말씀하셨다.

"If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her."

만일 너희 중에 어떤 사람이 죄가 없다면 그가 그녀에게 돌을 던지는데 첫째가 되게 하라.

8:8 Again he stooped down(몸을 굽히다) and wrote on the ground.

다시 그는 몸을 굽혀 땅위에 쓰셨다.

8:9 At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time(한번에 하나씩),

그러자 그 말을 듣던 사람들이 하나둘씩 떠나가기 시작하였다.

the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there.

나이 많은 사람들이 먼저 일어나더니, 거기에 여전히 서있던 그 여자와 함께 오직 예수만 남았습니다.

8:10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, 예수께서 일어나셔서 그녀에게 물으셨다.

"Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?" 

여자여, 그들이 어디있느냐? 아무도 너를 정죄하지 않았는가?
