Padres rain runs on Pirates - Park goes six innings in shortened game

Chan Ho Park's brilliant outing and Mike Piazza and Brian Giles each a hit two-run homer to lead the Padres to a 7-0 win over the Pirates on Thursday night in a rain-shortened six inning game.

The enigmatic Park turned in one of his best performances this season by holding the Pirates scoreless on five hits over six innings. Park even hit well, going 3-for-3 with two RBIs to raise his season average to .400.

He had plenty of help. San Diego had 15 hits and knocked out former Padre Oliver Perez after two innings and a five-run battering.

The game was delayed two hours and did not get under way until shortly after 6 p.m. PT due to heavy rains. The rains during the delay never exceeded a light drizzle, but were steady throughout the game and kept the Pittsburgh grounds crew busy. Throughout the game, it applied 9,000 pounds (200 bags) of Quik Dry to the infield.

After a second delay of 33 minutes, the game was finally called.

오늘 이 경기 볼려고 아침 일찍 일어나서 TV를 보는데 계속 연기되어 혹 경기취소 되지 않나했는데

다행(?)스럽게도 2시간만에 경기가 시작되어 열심히 봤답니다.

피츠버그가 워낙에 최근 페이스가 좋아 걱정했는데 비가 내린게 오히려 득이 되었을까요?

박찬호 선수가 투타 모두 완벽한 모습을 보이며 피츠버그를 무너뜨리고 3승을 올렸네요.

5회까지는 무조건 넘겨야만 게임취소가 안되기때문에 5회까지는 조마조마한 마음으로 봤는데

5회를 넘기고는 내심 비가 왕창 내려 게임 중단되기 바라는 악마적인 성격을 드러냈죠~

뭐 어쨋든 그 소원이 하늘에 들렸는데 6회 강우 콜드게임.. ㅎㅎㅎ

박찬호 선수는 오늘 3타수 3안타 2타점으로 이번 시즌 20타수 8안타 4타점.. 4할 타자가 되었네요.

방어율로 4점 초반대로 떨어지고 시즌 3승과 함께 6이닝이긴 하지만 생애 3번째 완봉까지~ ㅎㅎ

이어진 서재응 선수가 안타깝게 강판당하지만 않았어도 두 메이저리거들이 웃었을텐데.. 아깝네요~
