The Avatamsaka Sutra, The Ten Abodes (십주품 20-8)

[眞如華]

     20-8.

     一切衆生種種解      心所好樂各差別

     如是無量欲悉知      菩薩以此初發心

     중생들이 가지가지 이해가 있고

     마음에 좋아함도 각각 다르니

     한량없는 이런 차별 모두 알고자

     보살이 이를 위해 처음으로 발심하였네.

Sentient beings have various understandings

And their mental inclinations are each different;

Wanting to know all these innumerable inclinations

Do enlightening beings therefore arouse their will.

Sentient beings have; 중생들이 ~ 있고

various understandings; 가지가지 이해가

And their mental inclinations; 마음에 좋아함도

are each different; 각각 다르니

Wanting to know all; 모두 알고자

these innumerable inclinations; 한량없는 이런 차별

Do ~ therefore arouse their will

; 이를 위해 처음으로 발심하였네

enlightening beings; 보살이
