[오늘의 묵상칼럼] 2026.9.8(화) 오늘의 말씀카드, 365묵상글,

1. 오늘의 묵상칼럼 : 스스로의 싸움을 내려놓고 은혜 안에 머물기

   신앙생활에서 자주 마주하는 가장 큰 영적 함정 중 하나는 내 힘과 의지로 죄를 극복하려는 시도입니다. 우리는 결단과 금욕, 자기 통제를 통해 거룩함에 이르려 하지만, 번번이 좌절을 마주합니다. 죄의 권세는 인간의 도덕적 노력이나 수양으로 꺾을 수 있는 성질의 것이 아니기 때문입니다. 오스왈드 챔버스가 강조하듯, 죄의 근본 문제는 오직 그리스도의 대속과 십자가를 통해서만 해결될 수 있습니다.

   에베소서 2장 9절은 우리의 구원과 회복이 행위에서 난 것이 아니라고 분명히 선언합니다. 만약 우리의 의지와 노력으로 죄를 통제하고 의로워질 수 있다면 구원은 자랑거리가 되었을 것입니다. 그러나 복음은 우리가 무력함을 인정하고 하나님의 은혜 앞에 무릎 꿇을 때 비로소 역사합니다.

   고린도후서 10장 5절의 말씀처럼, 참된 영적 승리는 내 힘으로 싸워 이기는 데 있지 않습니다. 하나님을 대적하여 스스로 높아진 교만한 자아, 곧 '내 힘으로 거룩해질 수 있다'는 생각을 무너뜨리고 모든 생각을 사로잡아 그리스도께 복종시키는 데 있습니다. 오늘 하루, 죄와 씨름하며 지친 자아의 시도를 멈추고, 이미 십자가에서 승리하신 예수 그리스도의 은혜에 모든 주권을 온전히 내어맡기시길 바랍니다.

2. 오늘의 묵상칼럼(영어버전) : Surrendering the Struggle into Sovereign Grace

   One of the deepest spiritual traps in the Christian walk is trying to conquer sin through sheer willpower and self-effort. We often rely on resolutions, discipline, and moral exertion, only to find ourselves repeatedly exhausted and defeated. The power of sin cannot be neutralized by human striving; as Oswald Chambers observed, only Christ, through the power of His redemption, can truly deal with the root of sin.

   Ephesians 2:9 reminds us that our standing before God is not a result of works, leaving no room for human boasting. If our self-righteous struggles could produce holiness, grace would be unnecessary. The gospel begins where our self-sufficiency ends.

   True spiritual victory, as outlined in 2 Corinthians 10:5, does not come from fighting the battle in our own strength. It comes from tearing down the spiritual pride that exalts human effort above God, taking every self-reliant thought captive, and submitting it to the obedience of Christ. Today, release the exhausting struggle of self-reformation and rest fully in the finished work and transformative grace of Jesus Christ.
