📌 Mocha was saved from being euthanized and has cycled through several indoor/outdoor foster homes.
📌 We are looking for Mocha’s forever home so she no longer has to move around foster homes!
1. Reactions regarding unfamiliar environments and meeting strangers:
- She looked a little nervous to other dogs we ran into during walks because she was approached by them, though Mocha didn’t react aggressively at all.
- She is not scared of strangers.
- When we went to the hospital, Mocha was chill and just sat next to me, and got all her treatments with no issues.
2. When her foster parents first met Mocha:
- On the first day, Mocha seemed a bit nervous but didn’t really look scared or anxious.
- On the second day, I let her smell my hand and she started to wag her tail. After that she got used to me and my place so quickly. She ate well and kept wanting to be pet.
3. Sociability With People:
- Mocha has such a chill dogsonality that she doesn’t really jump on strangers.
- She will be super friendly once she gets used to you.
- She likes being pet and is lovely to be around.
4. Reaction to Children:
Hasn’t met any yet.
5. Fear of people based on gender:
None
6. Reaction to Other Dogs:
- Mocha growls lightly when other dogs she doesn’t know approach her. But it sounds more like a warning and not aggressive.
- She gets along really well with other dogs once they become friends. She even lets them use her stuff (toy/pad) and let them win when they play together. I think Mocha is very sociable.
7. Reaction to Cats:
- There was one time when Mocha ran into a cat through a cage before. She barked was very defensive.
- 7 days after it happened, Mocha wouldn’t get close to a cat even there was nothing between them. She hasn’t yet really been with a cat alone without people.
8. Barking Habits:
- Mocha barks a couple times when she hears loud sounds through the door. Otherwise She doesn’t really bark.
9. Aggression or Biting Issues:
- She has never been aggressive towards nor bitten people.
10. Eating Habits/Favorite Food:
- She loves all food.
11. Coprophagis (eating feces) :
None
12. Sleeping Preferences:
- Mocha sleeps on her pad.
13. Crate Training:
- We are not sure she’s trained with a crate but we’ve seen Mocha came in and out of the crate and even sleep inside from time to time.
14. Potty-Training:
- Mocha prefers to use the bathroom outside, but she does occasionally use a pad indoor.
- We put the pad in our veranda and didn’t even teach her to use it but Mocha seemed to just know where she’s supposed to pee or poo. She has never made any mistakes with pottying indoors.
15. Marking:
- None
16. Playing with Toys:
- Mocha likes toys.
- She prefers to chew rubber or plastic toys than fabric ones.
17. Separation Anxiety:
- Mocha whines for a bit, but she goes about her business after a bit.
18. Walking Outside:
- Mocha has no issue with wearing a harness or leash.
- She loves walking outside.
19. Does she recognize her name? Does she come to you when you call her outside?
- I think Mocha just knows it’s me calling her more than her name itself. And we’re not sure if she would come to us outside because we haven’t walked her outside without a leash.
20. Understood Commands:
- We haven’t trained her with any commands yet.
21. Health Issues/Required Treatments:
- The doctor told us that Mocha’s right patella is on the 1st or 2nd stage, and her left patella is on the 2nd or 3rd stage, so she might need to get surgery for her left leg.
- He also mentioned that the black on her tongue is actually a mole, and that there’s a tiny bump on the bottom of her eye, like a wart, but neither of these things is anything to worry about.
22. Car-Training:
- We haven’t ridden a car yet.
23. Things of note for interested Families:
- Mocha is a very chill and mature dog.
- She likes people and keeps wanting to get attention from them.
- She gets along well with other dogs in the foster home.
- She’s very active and sociable.
24. Ideal family:
- Due to her chill/sociable dogsonality, she can fit both a single-person household and multi-person household.
- Mocha is an active dog, so it would be wonderful if you can walk her outside often enough!
25. How does she react when you are around her while she’s eating or when you steal her food or her toy? Is she aggressive or does she growl at other dogs?
- We haven’t stolen her food while she’s eating, however we took the toy out of her mouth because we were worried she could swallow it, but she wasn’t aggressive or tried to bite us.
- She’s not aggressive even when she shares snacks with other dogs.
