The Avatamsaka Sutra, The Ten Abodes (십주품 24-3)

[眞如華]

     24-3.

     欲以無量刹衆生      置一毛端不迫隘

     悉知無人無有我      菩薩以此初發心

     한량없는 세계의 모든 중생을

     한 터럭 끝에 두어도 비좁지 않고

     남도 없고 나도 없는 줄을 다 알고자

     보살이 이를 위해 처음으로 발심하였네.

Wanting to take the beings of innumerable lands

And put them on a hairtip without crowding,

Knowing all have no person and no self,

Therefore do enlightening beings arouse their will.

Wanting ~ Knowing; 다 알고자

to take the beings of innumerable lands

; 한량없는 세계의 모든 중생을

And put them on a hairtip

; 한 터럭 끝에 두어도

without crowding; 비좁지 않고

all have no person; 남도 없고

and no self; 나도 없는 줄을

Therefore do ~ arouse their will

; 이를 위해 처음으로 발심하였네

enlightening beings; 보살이
