<묵상 한 문장>
There is no one righteous, not even one.”(Romans 3:10)
When we look at ourselves, it is easy to think, “I am doing reasonably well.”
We compare ourselves with others and convince ourselves that we are good enough.
But when we stand before God’s Word, our perspective changes.
“There is no one righteous, not even one.”
The Bible does not give us this truth to crush us. It gives us this truth so that we may discover where our true hope lies: in the grace of Jesus Christ. Romans 3 teaches that all people are under sin, but it also announces that God’s righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ.
Therefore, Christianity is not about saying, “I am good enough.”
It begins with saying,
“I cannot make myself righteous. I need Jesus.”
Oswald Chambers emphasized the importance of learning to see God, the world, sin, and spiritual reality from the perspective that Jesus had.
This means that we must allow Christ to reshape not only our actions, but also our thinking.
How do I see God?
How do I see the world?
How seriously do I take sin?
Do I recognize the lies and opposition of Satan?
Our problem is not that we have no thoughts.
Our problem is that we so easily believe the wrong thoughts.
That is why Paul says:
“We take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”
— 2 Corinthians 10:5
Spiritual maturity is not simply changing a few behaviors.
It is allowing Christ to change the direction of our thinking.
From self-centered thinking to God-centered thinking.
From feelings as our standard to Scripture as our standard.
From living according to people’s opinions to living according to Jesus’ perspective.
Every day, countless thoughts pass through our minds:
“I can’t do this.”
“I could never be forgiven.”
“They don’t respect me.”
“This is just the way the world is.”
“A little compromise won’t hurt.”
But not every thought is true.
So today, bring your thoughts before Jesus.
Ask:
“How would Jesus see this?”
That question can begin to renew your mind.
There is no righteous person on his own.
Therefore, we need Jesus.
There is no perfect person.
Therefore, we need grace.
Even our thoughts are not always trustworthy.
Therefore, we must bring every thought into submission to Christ.
Today, ask God to help you see Him with the eyes of Jesus,
to see the world with the heart of Jesus,
to recognize sin according to Jesus’ standard,
and to surrender every thought to His Word.
Meditation in One Sentence
“Do not try to make yourself righteous; cling to the grace of Christ and bring every thought into obedience to Jesus.”
Today, Jesus invites us to lay down the thoughts that have been ruling us.
Thoughts that make us proud.
Thoughts that make us fearful.
Thoughts that make us compromise with sin.
Thoughts that make us lose hope.
Bring them to Christ.
The question is not simply,
“What do I think?”
The deeper question is,
“What does Jesus think?”
Let His Word correct your thoughts.
Let His grace humble your heart.
Let His truth replace your fears.
“There is no one righteous, not even one.”
That is why we need Jesus.
And that is also why there is hope.
Because the gospel does not tell us to become righteous by ourselves.
It directs us to the righteousness of Christ.
Today, surrender your thoughts to Him.
Let your mind be renewed.
Let your heart be transformed.
Let your life be shaped by the perspective of Jesus.
Come and learn to see God, the world, sin, and your life through the eyes of Christ.
