<p>Eli, Ei, Lama, Sabachtahni - My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?</p><p> </p><p>The death of Jesus was a result of Him bearing God's abandonment. He carried all our sins upon Himself and died. It was because God, who detests sin, was angry and couldn't overlook that sin.</p><p> </p><p>Because God the Father, while being with His Son Jesus, did not intervene to save dying Jesus due to the anger directed at the sins carried by Jesus' body, we received salvation.</p><p> </p><p>Because Jesus experienced abandonment, we are spared from experiencing it ourselves. Therefore, we must not forsake Jesus.
