1. Code의 발생기원
ASME의 Abbreviation은 The American Society of Mechanical Engineers입니다. ASME Code의 발행기원은 1800년대 말 미국을 위주로 해서 압력용기 및 보일러의 사고가 잦았고, 이에 국가적인 대책을 마련코져 미국 및 국제적인 Standards들을 조합하여 ASME Code를 만들었습니다.
Code라 하면은 항상 ASME Code를 일컫는 약어로 쓰이고, ASME Code Book or ASME Code Break라고도 일컫습니다.

기술질의에 대한 공식적인 회신. 매년 7월과 12월에 발행되며, 이해하기 쉽게 대법원의 "판례"쯤으로 해석하면 쉽죠.
Code Cases
위원회에서 수시로 정기적인 모임을 통하여 추가/수정, Code에 없는 자재등의 내용등을 고려하고, 일부는 다음 Edition/Addenda에 정식 Code의 Requirement로 채택되기도 합니다. Addenda와 마찬가지로 매년 구매자에게 자동적으로 배부가 됨.
