[오늘의 묵상칼럼] 2026.9.10(목) 오늘의 말씀카드, 365묵상글, 예산수정교회 

1.  오늘의 묵상 칼럼: 보이지 않는 자리에서 빚어지는 진짜 헌신

   예수님께서는 무화과나무 아래 홀로 머물던 나다나엘의 은밀한 시간을 이미 알고 계셨습니다(요 1:48). 오스왈드 챔버스가 경고하듯, 사람들의 시선이 닿지 않는 일상의 은밀한 자리에서 하나님을 예배하지 않는 사람은 정작 사역의 부르심 앞에 섰을 때 아무런 쓸모가 없을 뿐 아니라 오히려 방해거리가 됩니다. 외적인 직분, 화려한 종교적 열심, 겉으로 드러나는 형식은 하나님 앞에서 본질이 아닙니다. 사도 바울이 선포했듯이, "그리스도 예수 안에서는 할례나 무할례나 효력이 없으되 사랑으로써 역사하는 믿음뿐"(갈 5:6)이기 때문입니다.

  우리가 매일 마주하는 무화과나무 아래—평범하고 분주한 일터, 가정, 침묵의 골방—는 하나님을 향한 순전한 사랑의 믿음이 훈련되는 제단입니다. 겉포장뿐인 종교적 형식을 걷어내고, 오직 주님을 향한 사랑으로 반응하는 믿음의 일상을 살아갈 때 우리는 비로소 하나님의 손에 온전히 쓰임받는 참된 도구가 됩니다.

  아무도 보지 않는 당신만의 '무화과나무 아래'는 지금 어떤 모습입니까? 겉모습의 자격이나 종교적 의무감을 내려놓고, 오늘 하루 삶의 모든 순간을 하나님을 향한 예배로 채워보지 않으시겠습니까? 주님과의 깊은 사귐 속에서 흘러나오는 '사랑으로 역사하는 믿음'의 자리로 여러분을 초대합니다.

3. 오늘의 묵상칼럼(영어버전) : True Devotion Formed in the Hidden Place

  Jesus already saw and knew Nathanael when he was sitting alone under the fig tree (John 1:48). As Oswald Chambers reminds us, if we do not cultivate a life of worship in the ordinary, hidden moments, we will find ourselves utterly useless—and even a hindrance—when the opportunity to serve God arrives. Outward titles, religious busyness, and external rituals hold no real power before God. As the Apostle Paul declared, "For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love" (Galatians 5:6).

  The quiet space under your own fig tree—the mundane workplace, the home, the silent prayer closet—is the very altar where faith driven by genuine love is refined. When we strip away superficial religious pretense and live daily in faith motivated by love for Christ, we become vessels truly prepared and useful for His work.
