   우린 늦었어!

시계는 우리의 시간을 알 수 없다.

어떤 행사를 기도해야 할지 알 수 없다.
왜냐하면 우리는 시간이 없기 때문이다.

왜냐하면
우리가 채우는 시간을 알기 전까지는 시간이 없기 때문이다.
왜냐하면 시간이 과거와 다르기 때문이다.
또한 우리의 질문은

조각상의 눈에 담긴 답을 만족시킬수 없다:
오직 살아 있는 자만이 지금 누구의 이마에
로마 월계관을 걸 수 있느냐고 묻는다;

죽은 자들은 오직 어떻게 말하는지만 말한다.

우리가 죽으면 산 자는 어떻게 될까?

죽음은 죽음에 의해 이해되지 않는다;

너도, 나도.

Clocks cannot tell our time of day
For what event to pray
Because we have no time, because
We have no time until
We know what time we fill,
Why time is other than time was.
Nor can our question satisfy
The answer in the statue's eye:
Only the living ask whose brow
May wear the Roman laurel now;
The dead say only how.

What happens to the living when we die?
Death is not understood by Death;

nor You, nor I.
