Are we seeking [genuine spiritual growth],

or are we guilty of only wanting to hear messages //that make [us] [comfortable without bringing conviction]?

* 보어인 명사구 [genuine spiritual growth], 형+형+명

* be동사가 있는 문장의 의문문은 be동사를 주어와 자리바꿈 하여 문두에 씀 we're seeking~. => Are we seeking~?

  We are guilty. => Are we guilty? There is a such thing. Is there a such thing.

* 일반동사 의문문은 조동사 do/does가 주어와 도치/자리바꿈 됨 You think so. => do you think so?

  That makes [us] [comfortable] => Does that make [us] [comfortable]?

For the time will come /when people will not put up with [sound doctrine].

Instead, to suit their own desires,

they will gather around [them] [a great number of teachers /to say what their itching ears want to hear].

* 주의1 ; gather를 자동사로 분석하여 gather /around them으로 하면 뒤에 온 명사구 처리가 곤란해짐

New Living Translation
For a time is coming /when people will no longer listen /to sound and wholesome teaching.

They will follow [their own desires]

and will look for [teachers //who will tell [them] [whatever their itching ears want to hear].

* 타동사구 look for ; to try to find someone or something 찾다

* 4 형식  tell [them] [whatever their itching ears want to hear]. 간목에게 직목을 동사하다

* 직목인 의문사절 whatever [their itching ears] want [to hear (목)]. 접속사인 의문사는 to hear의 목적 역할도 대신함
