Our good works aren’t going to get [us] /to heaven.

It’s only by God’s grace and our faith in Jesus.

* 숙어 be going to ;1.  to refer to a future action that we've already decided to do. 할 것이다, 할 예정이다

  2. to predict something that we think is certain to happen or which we have evidence for now: 예상하다

* It’s only by God’s grace and our faith in Jesus (to get us to heaven).  (가주어 it = 진주어/생략된 부정사구)

New International Version
Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness,

which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award /to me /on that day

—and not only to me, but also to all //who have longed /for his appearing.

* 존재를 표현하는 관용어  there is ; there는 장소 의미의 부사가 아니고 '~이 존재한다'는 의미로 됨

* 비교 ; 1. There is a car. 차 한 대가 존재한다/있다, (차에 대해 얘기하려고 운을 뗄 때 씀)

            2. A car is there in the parking lot. 차 한 대가 그곳 주차장에 있다 (주차장이라는 그곳/장소 의미)

* 주의 ; 정지표지가 거기 있다의 영어번역 A stop sign is there. (O), 정지표지가 거기에 위치하고 있다

   There is a stop sign. (X) 정지표지가 존재한다 (정지표지에 대해서 언급하려 한다)

   At the end of the street, there is a stop sign. You must stop your car, look left and right, and then proceed.

* 형역인 동격 명사구  the righteous Judge = the Lord,  (the Lord, who is the righteous Judge)

* 형절 which the Lord will award (목) /to me /on that day 관계 대명사  (which=the crown=목) 

* 전목인 명사구 all //who have longed /for his appearing. 대명사+형절/주격 관대절

New Living Translation
And now the prize awaits [me]—the crown of righteousness,

which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return.

And the prize is not just for me but for all //who eagerly look forward /to his appearing.

* 타동사인 await (목적이 뒤에 쓰임) 

* 주의 : 자동사 wait은 전치사가 뒤에 쓰임 ; wait for me.

* 동격 명사구 the crown of righteousness = the prize

* 4 형식 which the Lord will give me (직목) on the day of his return. (which = 직목)

* 전목인 명사구 all //who eagerly look forward /to his appearing. 

* 숙어  look forward /to~ ;  to feel happy and excited about something that is going to happen in the future.                      

* 주의   look forward /to~에서 to는 전치사이기에 준동사를 전목으로 쓰려면 부정사가 아닌 동명사를 써야 함

 look forward /to seeing you (O),   look forward /to see you (X). 너를 보기를 기대한다
