요즘 엔게에 나이키에서 공개하고 있는 팀별 저지 디자인 이야기가 한창이라,

철지난 글 올려봅니다. (보신 분들 많겠지만, 못 보신 분들을 위해)

아래 글은 Fox Sports의 Andrew Lynch가 2016년 12월13일에 작성한 것입니다.

개인적으로는 수긍이 되지 않는 저지들이 있는데..ㅋ

설문조사 결과가 아니라 필자의 개인적 의견이니

재미로 보시지요. ㅎㅎ

(30위) New Orleans Pelicans: 2014-present alternate

펠리컨즈의 ALT 저지는 기본 저지보다 축제 분위기가 나. 뉴올리언즈의 NBA팀에게 원하는 것은 바로 이런 것(festive)이야. 특히, 측면부에 크림색으로 액센트를 준 것이 아주 좋아~

The Pelicans' alternate jerseys are way more festive than their normal jerseys, and "festive" is exactly what I want from an NBA team playing in New Orleans. The cream accent on the side piping is a particularly nice touch.

(29위) Detroit Pistons: 2014-present alternate

저지에 연고 도시의 닉네임을 넣는 것에 대찬성! 피스톤스의 ALT 저지가 평범하고 깨끗한 원정 저지보다 더 낫다고 봄.

I'm all for teams putting nicknames for their cities on the front of the jerseys, which puts these Pistons alternates slightly ahead of the normal, clean Detroit road jerseys.

(28위) Houston Rockets: 1976-95 home

로케츠의 저지 역사에 있어 큰 문제점은 저지 세트가 빨강-노랑 테마의 패스트푸드 체인 홍보용처럼 보인다는 거야. 그 별 볼일 없는 저지들 중에서… 구식이긴 하지만 올라주원 시대의 홈 저지가 그나마 베스트야.

The problem with the Rockets' history of jerseys is finding a kit that doesn't look like a promotional tool for a certain red-and-yellow-themed fast-food restaurant. The old-school, Hakeem-era home jerseys are the best of a bad bunch.

(27위) Atlanta Hawks: 1982-92 road

호크스의 팩맨 시절 저지는 급강하하여 위에서 덮치는 듯한 전면 디자인의 독창성에 좋은 점수를 줄만 해. 하지만, 이것도 로케츠와 동일한 색상이라는 이슈가 있긴 하지.

반면, 애틀란타의 현재 저지는 불더미에 던져버려야 마땅해. 그리고 다 탄 재는 로케트에 실어서 태양으로 날려버린 다음, 태양을 없애버려야 한다구. 안전해지려면 말야.

The Hawks' Pac-Man era duds get points for originality with the swooping nameplate across the front, but they run into the same color issues as the Rockets before them.

Atlanta's current jerseys, meanwhile, should be thrown into a fire, then the ashes should be put on a rocket ship that's fired into the sun, then we should destroy the sun. Just to be safe.

(26위) Indiana Pacers: 1997-2005 home

깨끗하고 세련됐어. 노랑과 파랑이 서로 끝내주게 잘 어울려. 거기에 세로 줄무늬는 완벽한 피니쉬지….

Clean. Classy. The yellow and blue complement each other wonderfully, and the pinstripes are a perfect finishing touch.

(25위) Dallas Mavericks: 2014-present alternate

난 고층빌딩들의 스카이라인에 사족을 못쓰지. 게다가 현재 댈러스 ALT 저지의 네이비블루 색은 전형적인 원정 유니폼과 비교해서 빤따스띡한 변화라고 할 수 있어.

I'm a sucker for skylines, and the navy blue of Dallas' current alternate jersey is a fantastic color change from the Mavs' typical road uniforms.

(24위) Cleveland Cavaliers: 1974-81 home

NBA 저지들의 99퍼센트가 색깔만 다를 뿐, 다 똑같아 보여. 캐브스는 오리지널 홈 저지에 무언가 유니크한 작업을 했지. (지난 몇 시즌간 Hardwood Classics처럼 수차례 변화를 줬던 그 홈 유니폼에서 말야.) 그리고 옆구리의 체크무늬는 아주 잘 어울려.

클리블랜드 팬들이 내게 승질내기 전에 말해두고 싶어. 난 대부분의 캐브스 저지가 화끈하다고 생각해. 난 오렌지색 Throwback 저지도, 네이비색의 ALT 저지도 좋아. 특히 클리블랜드에게 챔피언십을 가져다 준 반팔 블랙 저지가 아주 좋아. 다만…..요게(체크무늬 넣은 저지) 더 좋을 뿐이야.

99 percent of NBA jerseys look the same, just with different colors. The Cavs did something unique with their original home jerseys (which they've rocked several times the past couple of seasons as "Hardwood Classics"), and the checkered accents along the sides of the jersey work well.

Before Cleveland fans get too angry with me, I would like to note that most of the Cavs' current jerseys are fire. I love the orange throwbacks, I love the navy alternates, and I especially love the black, sleeved jerseys that helped deliver Cleveland a championship.

I just like these the best.

(23위) Los Angeles Clippers: 2013-15 alternate

NFL의 샌디에이고 차져스 팬들은 말할 거야. 스포츠계에 더 많은 연청색(powder blue)가 필요하다고. (* 주 : 차져스의 ALT 유니폼 색깔이 powder blue인데 대부분의 사람들이 NFL 최고의 유니폼 중 하나로 꼽고 있음)

클리퍼스의 ALT 저지는 반팔이라는 것을 눈감아 줄 수 있을 정도로 충분히 강력하다고 봐.

As any San Diego Chargers fan will tell you, the sports world needs more powder blue. These Clippers' alternates are strong enough to make me overlook the sleeves.

(22위) New York Knicks: 1992-97 road

클래식이란 건 말이지…가만 냅두는게 좋아.

You don't mess with the classics.

(21위) Minnesota Timberwolves: 1989-96 road

미네소타의 오리지널 원정 저지와 케빈 가넷 시절 입었던 검정색 ALT 저지 중 동전 던지기를 한 끝에 결정했어. 이 녹색+청색바탕 디자인에는 끝내주는 뭔가가 있어.

This one came down to a coin flip between Minnesota's original road jerseys and the black alternates they wore during Kevin Garnett's prime. There's just something gorgeous about this green-on-blue design.

(20위) Washington Wizards: pre-1988 road

전설적인 웨스 언셀드가 이 저지를 입고 땀을 흘려서 흰색이 회색으로 변했는데(위 사진), 그를 용서해줘. 흰색이 회색으로 변한 것만 빼면, 애국심에 호소하는 듯한 저 앙상블에도 큰 문제는 없는 듯 해. 애국심에 대해서 말하자면 말이지…..(* 주 : 다음 19위로 계속됨)

You'll have to forgive the legendary Wes Unseld for sweating through his jersey and turning the white into a greyish color here. Other than that, there's nothing wrong with this patriotic ensemble.

And speaking of patriotism ...

(19위) Brooklyn Nets: 1977-90 road

엄밀히 말하면, 이 네츠의 저지는 ABA 시절에서 유래한 거지만, 뭐 상관없어. 이 저지는 너무 눈부시게 화려해서 순위 리스트에서 제외시킬 수 없었어. (나머지 옵션들은 너무 칙칙해서 말이지.) 하나가 더 있어. (* 주 : 다음 18위로 계속됨)

These Nets jerseys technically come from their time in the ABA, but I don't care. They're too spectacular (and the rest of the options are too drab) to leave off the list.

Now, once more for good measure ...

(18위) Philadelphia 76ers: 2015-present road

짜안~! 아메리카 테마 트리오 중 최고가 이거임. 필리 원정 유니폼의 레드-화이트-블루 조합은 완벽해.

The best of an America-themed trio, Philly's current road uniform is red, white and blue perfection.

(17위) Portland Trail Blazers: 1985-91 road

유니크한 (블레이저스) 글자체와 하의로 흘러내리는 유니크한 스트라이프, 이 블레이저스 저지는 80년대의 클래식한 향수를 느끼게 해주기에 사랑하지 않을 수 없어. 포틀랜드의 Rip City 홈 ALT 저지도 칭찬받아 마땅하고.

Unique lettering and a unique stripe running down to the shorts gives this Blazers jersey a classic '80s feel that I can't help but love. Portland's "Rip City" home alternates deserve an honorable mention as well while we're here.

(16위) San Antonio Spurs: 2002-10 road

윌 스미스가 Willennium 음반을 내기 전에 내게 가르쳐줬어. 멋지고 착한 놈들은 검은색을 입는다고. 기억하라구.

As Will Smith taught me just before the turn of the Willennium: The good guys dress in black. Remember that. 

(15위) Los Angeles Lakers: 1978-89 home

고백 : 난 사실 레이커즈의 어메이징하고 전통적인 노란색 홈 저지보다는….Hollywood Nights 저지(검은색 바탕+노랑)의 광팬이야. 내가 만약 그 Hollywood Nights가 레이커즈 역사상 최고의 저지라고 한다면….LA의 모든 사람들이 나를 상대로 폭동을 일으킬 거라는 것도 알아.

Confession: I'm actually a bigger fan of the Lakers' current "Hollywood Nights" jerseys than their amazing traditional home yellows. I'm also aware that if I tried to call those the best Lakers jeresys ever, all of Los Angeles would rise up against me.

(14위) Utah Jazz: 2011-16 alternate

이걸 유타 재즈의 기본 원정 저지로 바꾸기 위해 탄원서를 내려면 뭐부터 해야 되남? 녹색, 검정색, 금색의 조합은 환상적이고, 전면의 흰색 재즈 로고는 아름다워.

Where do I start a petition to make these Utah's normal road jerseys? The green, black and gold color scheme is spectacular, and the white "Jazz" logo across the front pops beautifully.

(13위) Memphis Grizzlies: 1995-00 road

잘 정돈된 다양한 구멍의 둘레(미안, 나 패션 잘 모름), 멋진 청록색, 90년대의 블록 글자체, 그리고 하의 반바지의 그리즐리스 로고. 이 모든 걸 합쳐놓으면, 엉망진창일 것 같지만, 왠지 잘 어울려.

The trim around the various limb-holes (sorry, I'm not a fashion person). The gorgeous turquoise color of the jerseys. The '90s-era block lettering. And the Grizzlies logo on the shorts.

Combine it all, and you have a trainwreck that somehow works wonders.

(12위) Miami Heat: 2012-13 alternate

빅-3 시절 히트의 흰색바탕+흰색 ALT 저지에는 뭔가가 있어. 검정-빨강의 원정 저지도 훌륭하지만, 프로 스포츠계에서 보기 힘든 희귀한 디자인이 나를 요동치게 해. 뭐, 르브론 & Co.였기에 이 유니폼이 더 멋져 보였던 것이겠지만. 

There's just something so Miami about the white-on-white-on-white look of these Heat alternates from the Big Three era. Both the black and red road jerseys are great, too, but I'm rolling with one of the rarest looks in professional sports — mostly because LeBron & Co. made it look good.

(11위) Toronto Raptors: 1995-99 road

팩트 : 명예의 전당에 데이먼 스타더마이어가 새천년(21세기)에 들어서기 전에 입었던 저지가 전시되어 있어. 20세기에 치뤄진 마지막 경기를 기념하기 위한 것이라네. 하지만 진짜 목적은 농구 역사상 가장 우스꽝스러우면서 최고 중 하나인 이 저지를 기념하기 위한 게 아닐지.

저 랩터를 봐. 지가 사람인줄 알잖아.  

Fact: there is a turn-of-the-millennium Damon Stoudamire jersey at the Basketball Hall of Fame. It's there to commemorate the final NBA game played during last century, but I like to pretend its true purpose is to celebrate one of the goofiest, best jerseys in basketball history.

Look at that Raptor. He thinks he's people!

(10위) Charlotte Hornets: 1989-96 road

호네츠의 현재 저지도 충분히 훌륭해. 하지만, 이 오리지널 청록색의 아름다움에는 비할 바가 아니지.

The Hornets' modern jerseys are pretty great, too, but it's tough to beat these original teal beauties.

(9위) Milwaukee Bucks: 2015-16 present alternate

훌륭한 로고가 있다면, 유니폼 전면/중앙부에 때려 박으라구. 밀워키의 ALT 유니폼은 완전 유니크해. 벅스는 뭔가 다른 걸 시도해서 리스펙트 받고 있어. (어떤 주류 브랜드는 이 로고 디자인에 기분이 별로겠지만서도) 

If you have an amazing logo, why not put it front and center? This Milwaukee alternate is wholly unique, and the Bucks get props for trying something different (even if a certain liquor brand isn't too happy about the way that logo looks).

(8위) Boston Celtics: All of their standard road jerseys

진지하게…한 번 선택해봐. 만약 셀틱스가 저지에 아주 큰 변화를 준다면, 동북부 전체가 폭동을 일으킬지 안 일으킬지.

Seriously, take your pick. If the Celtics ever make drastic changes to their jerseys, the entire Northeast might riot.

(7위) Golden State Warriors: 2014-present road

워리어스는 벅스가 위(9위)에서 보여준 필연적 결과를 따르고 있어. 멋진 로고를 전면/중앙부에 때려 박으라구. 난 워리어스의 유니폼 중 원정 저지를 최고로 치지만 말이야, 슬레이트색 저지(검은색 반팔)도 환상적이라는 걸 말해주고 싶어.

The Warriors follow the Bucks corollary from above: rock your awesome logo front and center on your chests. While I'm picking Golden State's current road jerseys above the rest of the Warriors' choices, I'd be remiss not to point out how fantastic the slate jerseys look as well. 

(6위) Sacramento Kings: 1985-90 road

Hardwood Classics이 클래식인 데에는 다 이유가 있어. 재즈의 녹색 ALT 저지처럼, 킹스도 가능한 빨리 이걸 풀타임 저지로 결정해야 돼. 완전 멋지잖아.

The "Hardwood Classics" are classics for a reason. Like the Jazz with their green alternates, the Kings should make these their full-time jerseys ASAP. They're absolutely stunning.

(5위) Oklahoma City Thunder: 1985-95 road

리그에서 가장 형편없는 저지 중 하나를 가지고 있는 썬더이지만, 다행스러운 것은 그들의 프랜차이즈 역사에는 시애틀 슈퍼소닉스가 포함되어 있다는 거지. NBA 최고의 원정 저지 중 하나를 가지고 있었던 그 슈퍼소닉스 말이야.

Fortunately for the Thunder (who have some of the worst jerseys in the association), their franchise history includes the Seattle SuperSonics — who had some of the best road jerseys in the NBA.

(4위) Chicago Bulls: 1995-96 alternate

불스의 유니폼 중 최고는 붉은 줄무늬가 들어간 검정색 ALT 저지야. 더욱이 마이클 조던이 조던 11을 신고 있다면 말이지.

The Bulls' black alternates were at their best with red pinstripes — and with Michael Jordan rocking a pair of Jordan 11s.

(3위) Orlando Magic: 1994-98 road

대부분의 사람들이 올랜도의 오리지널 검정색 원정 저지를 매직 최고의 유니폼으로 꼽을 것 같아. 하지만 난 electric look 삘나는 파란색 바탕+흰색 줄무늬 저지를 더 선호해. 만약 당신이 레슬링 팬이라면, 이건 그 경이적이었던 AJ의 스타일을 떠올리게 할 거야.

어느 쪽이 됐건 간에….올랜도의 줄무늬 저지를 선택하면 후회하지 않을 거야.

I'm guessing most people would pick Orlando's original black road jersey as the Magic's best uniform, but I prefer the electric look of white on blue. If you're a wrestling fan, it might remind you of the phenomenal AJ Styles.

Either way, you can't go wrong with Orlando's pinstriped look.

(2위) Phoenix Suns: 1992-00 alternate

선즈가 NBA 역사상 최고의 ALT 유니폼을 포함하여 어메이징한 저지들을 갖고 있던 시기를 떠올려 봐. 요즘…..피닉스의 선수들은 태양의 전사라기 보다는 호박처럼 보여.

Remember when the Suns had amazing jerseys, including the best alternate uniform in NBA history? These days, Phoenix players look more like pumpkins than warriors of the sun.

(1위) Denver Nuggets: 1985-93 road

홈이건 원정이건 간에, 덴버의 무지개 배경+스카이라인 저지에 대적할 상대는 없어. 결국, 이게 NBA야. 이 리그에서는 엔터테인먼트가 최고이자 전부이지. 덴버의 저지들은 재미와 즐거움에 대한 신념과 약속을 반영하고 있어.

자, 이제부터…나는 책상에 앉아 오늘 하루 내내 이 영광스러운 저지를 계속 쳐다볼 거라구.

At home or on the road, Denver's skyline jerseys with the rainbow background are without equal.

After all, this is the NBA. The league is all about entertainment, and the jerseys should reflect that commitment to fun.

Now, if you don't mind me, I'm going to sit at my desk and stare at this glorious jersey for the rest of the day.
