이번 수능영어시험은 작년 수능영어시험 보다는 어려웠지만 지난 6월 모의평가 보다는 쉬웠던 것으로 평가되고 있습니다.

2019학년도 대학수학능력시험 출제본부에서는 “수험생들이 수월하게 풀 수 있는 평이한 난이도의 문항들도 상당수 출제되었으나, 일부 고난도 문항들과 수험생들이 이해하기 어려우리라 예상되는 추상적인 내용의 지문으로 구성된 몇몇 문항들을 통해 절대평가로 시행되는 수능 영어에서 변별력을 확보하고자 하였다.”고 출제 방향을 밝혔습니다.

33. Heritage is concerned with the ways in which very selective material artefacts, mythologies, memories and traditions become resources for the present. The contents, interpretations and representations of the resource are selected according to the demands of the present; an imagined past provides resources for a heritage that is to be passed onto an imagined future. It follows too that the meanings and functions of memory and tradition are defined in the present. Further, heritage is more concerned with meanings than material artefacts. It is the former that give value, either cultural or financial, to the latter and explain why they have been selected from the near infinity of the past. In turn, they may later be discarded as the demands of present societies change, or even, as is presently occurring in the former Eastern Europe, when pasts have to be reinvented to reflect new presents.
