유려하고 섬세한 멜로디와 순수하고 말랑말랑한 목소리와 더불어 전체적으로는 강력한 아우라와 파워가 느껴지는 특이한 분위기를 지니고 있다.
기타 이외에 비올라, 바이얼린, 피아노, 베이스 등의 실내악적인 편성에 감성적인 목소리가 곁들여져 꿈결 같은 멜랑콜리아의 진수를 들려준다.

Bob Brown's first LP was not completely overlooked the first time around. As a protege to Richie Havens during the peak of his career,
he was able to connect with an audience eager for the dreamy, open-hearted melancholia he perfected on The Wall I Built Myself.
The album sold well, but not well enough to permanently fix it in the memories of Brown's own generation.
On the other hand, it isn't nearly rare enough to attract the fetishism of the collector's culture.
Slowly this is changing, as music lovers identify with his potent voice which calls to mind Tim Hardin,
and the discipline and vision which calls to mind Tim Buckley. Luckily, he managed to escape their shared fate and speak with us today about his journey.

1973년 뉴올리언즈의 Natural Records에서 발매된 Les Moore의 첫번째 앨범.
거의 알려지지 않은 이 저예산 앨범은 자주제작 SSW 애호가들의 지지를 받아왔으며, 'loner / downer' 장르의 수작으로 평가받고 있다.
그의 낮게 떨리는 목소리는 Mark Bolan과 Dvendra Banhart를 연상시키며, 노래와 함께 동시 녹음된 기타 연주는 매우 뛰어나다.
이 앨범의 대표곡이자 대곡인 'A Day In A Life'에 대해 "공포에 떨며 심연으로 뛰어드는" 듯하다고 평하고 있지만(Acid Archives),
오늘날 완전히 사라져버린 원초적인 감성과 슬픔을 담아낸 것만으로도 충분히 들어볼 당위성을 부여할 수 있다.
'Now To Begin'은 매우 감동적인 반전가이며, 'Ooh-Pah-Do-Pah-Do'는 Numero Group의 유명한 포크 컴필레이션 'Wayfaring Strangers: Lonesome Heroes'에

Les Moore's first and best album dates back to New Orleans, 1973.
This low budget recording hits all the right notes for aficionados of early private press SSW music
and is considered a minor classic of the 'loner / downer' genres.
Moore's quavering voice calls to mind Mark Bolan and Dvendra Banhart, and his guitar work is subtly virtuostic.
Though best known for what Acid Archives calls the "scary jump into the abyss" of the radical cover of The Beatles' 'A Day In The Life,'
it's the original compositions by Moore and Andy and John Davis full of the kind of raw emotion and sadness totally missing from music today
that make this worth checking out. 'Now To Begin' may be the most moving anti-war song I've ever heard,
and 'Ooh-Pah-Do-Pah-Do' (included on Numero Group's great Wayfaring Strangers: Lonesome Heroes comp) may be the most deceptively-titled track

1983년 캔자스에서 발매된 Jeff Eubank(제프 유뱅크)의 유일작.
이 프로페셔널한 수준의 자주제작 앨범은 원래 500장(LP)만이 발매되었는데,
발매 당시에는 전혀 알려지지 않은 무명 가수의 앨범을 20년이 지나서야 찾아 듣고 좋아한다는 것은 정말 이상한 일 아닐까?
전반적인 사운드로 보면, 포크라기보다는 신서사이저가 포함된 팝 스타일의 SSW 음악이라고 말할 수 있으며,
담담한 보컬과 연주는 나무랄 데가 없고, 작곡 또한 더할 나위 없이 뛰어나다.
70년대 후반~80년대 초반의 과도기 음악에 관심있는, Bobb Trimble, Robert Lester Folsom, Anonymous의 팬이라면

People are just starting to catch up with the genius of this professional-quality private press recording originally produced in an edition of 500.
The vocals and playing are supple and the compositions truly brilliant! Jeff Hassett of waxidermy.com put it best when he wrote,
"I have to admit that when I first held Eubank in my hands and gazed upon the flimsy, ugly cover I felt dread deep in the pit of my stomach.
I played it once and was all like ughhh whatever... but then almost immediately I wanted to play it again... and again..."
Highly recommended for fans of Bobb Trimble, Robert Lester Folsom, Anonymous, and other purveyors of lost late 70s / early 80s music.
