I am deeply sorry for not posting any messages since I promised to organize an on-going meeting this Sunday. Having had a hectic week is my only excuse. ^^;
After the meeting, merry, 새끈선정 and I went for dinner. we all agreed English convesation meetings should be scheduled on a regular basis to improve our speaking skills as well as get to know each members and revive our cafe.
I was asked to be an organizer for next following meetings because I am relatively young even if it doesn't sound resonable. If all of you do not mind about it, it is my pleasue to take the position.
As a maybe-meeting organizer, I propose:
> Once a month on-going English conversation
Date: The first Sunday of each months
Time: between 4pm to 6:30pm
Place: Futher notice
Format: - Self Introduction of new members.
- Free-talk time to warm up a meeting as well as our tongues.
- Discussion on recent news brought by any members.
I think Oday have a great idea about a meeting place for the next meeting. I will contact Oday and confirm it as soon as possible.
So, if you agree, the next English conversation meeting will be the 4th of June from 4pm to 6:30pm. The meeting location will be posted soon.
If you all have any suggestions about the regular meeting above, feel free to reply to this message.
첫댓글Dear iggytime. It's great to see you again. I fully support your being the next organizer, and thank you very much for taking on the task. I am sure it will be a very good experience for you and everyone else. As for the format, it is important that everyone prepares a topic. The first comers can
use their self intro as their topic, but if you regularly attend the meeting, you can't keep giving self-introduction. The topic has to be something everybody can relate to and ask questions about. It should not be something so specialized that almost no one can be interested in it. It would be good
to build a list of good topics as a suggestion. Also, it would be good for the participants to think a bit about how they will talk about their topic. The more prepared they are, they more they will get, although preparation should not be a burden and impediment against attendance. It would also be
important that after the meeting the participants write their reflections about the meeting so it can be improved next time. So for this purpose, I think having a separate board for the meeting, where we can see all the discussions about the meeting in the same place, is a good idea. What do you
