* 오늘의 기도
Today's Devotional : Living in the Light
“Look on my affliction and my distress and take away all my sins.”
— Psalm 25:18
There are things we would rather keep hidden from others, even though God already knows them. There may be thoughts, feelings, desires, or attitudes that we fear would damage our reputation if they were brought into the light.
Oswald Chambers calls these “the hidden things of shame.” He challenges us to examine the things we would not want others to see and to renounce them as soon as they arise in our hearts.
Paul writes:
“Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God.”
— 2 Corinthians 4:2 (NIV)
Spiritual maturity does not mean becoming a person who has no sin. It means becoming a person who does not hide sin, but brings it honestly before God.
David did not merely ask God to remove his troubles. He prayed, “Take away all my sins.” He brought not only his circumstances but also his own heart before God.
So today, ask yourself honestly:
“Lord, what am I hiding from people that You already know?”
It may be jealousy, pride, resentment, greed, lust, an unforgiving heart, or a desire to be recognized and accepted.
We do not need to spend our lives protecting what we are afraid others might discover. We can bring it into the light of God’s grace.
The light of God does not shine merely to expose our shame. It shines to cleanse us and set us free.
Today, lay down what you have been hiding.
Do not measure your righteousness by what others cannot see. Instead, seek to live with a heart that is clean and honest before God.
Key Thought
“The person who has nothing to hide before God is truly free.”
Prayer
Lord, I confess the things I have tried to hide from others.
Help me bring everything into Your light. Forgive all my sins, cleanse my heart, and help me renounce every hidden and shameful way.
Teach me to walk in truth and to live honestly before You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
