n  Key Responsibilities:

Ø  The Roving Operator, reporting to the Lead Operator and Shift Supervisor, is responsible the safe operation, monitoring, and recording of plant functions throughout the power plant.

n  Duties:

Ø  Maintains all shift operations and maintenance documents

Ø  Observes and records data for instrumentation located throughout the facility

Ø  Monitors readings from instrumentation for variances from prescribed operating standards and procedures

Ø  Uses prescribed plant operating procedures to adjust manual controls or override automatic controls to bring equipment into recommended or prescribed operating ranges, switch to backup equipment or systems, or to shut down equipment

Ø  Visually inspects and listens to equipment at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment or lubrication

Ø  Performs water titration tests and adjusts chemical injection rates to maintain prescribed chemical limits in heat recovery steam generators and cooling towers

Ø  Records operation and maintenance actions taken during shift in operators logbook

Ø  Opens and closes valves as required for proper system operation and mechanical isolation

Ø  Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments

Ø  Reports and corrects unsafe conditions or hazards to the Lead Operator or Operations Manager

Ø  Operates plant equipment (trucks, crane, forklift)

Ø  Prepares legible and understandable work orders and purchase orders under the direction of the Lead Operator for required predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance

Ø  Assists maintenance technicians as directed by the Lead Operator in testing of equipment

Ø  Supports maintenance activities on a part-time basis as required (e.g. tightening fittings, replacing valve packing, gaskets, valves, gauges, and cleaning or replacing other component parts as required, lubricating equipment, etc.)

Ø  Performs routine predictive, preventive, and basic corrective maintenance in accordance with technical manual procedures

Ø  Secures and isolates equipment under Lockout/Tagout for maintenance purposes

Ø  Supports the Warehouse/Materials Technician and other maintenance personnel as directed by the Operations Manager in the ordering, receiving, storing, inventorying, inspecting, issuing, and shipping materials, supplies, tools, equipment and parts to support predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance

n  Requirement

Ø  At least 2+ years of power plant operator experience or equivalent

Ø  Plotting of data/records maintenance

Ø  Keyboard data entry

Ø  Prior experience on computer/microprocessor control system

Ø  Good working knowledge of Power Plant equipment

Ø  Excellent inter-personal skills

Ø  High degree of integrity or equivalent

Ø  Strong initiative, Self driven, Aggressive

n  Other Qualification (Job skills / soft skills)

Ø   Minimum Computer over intermediate

Ø   Desired N/A
