(서울=연합뉴스) 황윤기 기자 = 이재명 대통령은 27일 이른바 삼전닉스의 호남 반도체 투자 발표 관측과 관련해 일각에서 용수 부족 가능성이 제기되는 것에 대해 "호남에도 영남이나 수도권만큼 물은 충분하다"면서 직접 반박했다.

이재명 대통령은 호남의 수자원에 대해서는 "수십년간 분할 지배라는 정치적 목적을 위해 호남을 농업도시 수준으로 관리하면서 농업용수 공급 필요를 충족시키는 정도로 수자원을 방치했다"고 지적했다.

Regarding Honam's water resources, President Lee Jae-myung pointed out, "For the political purpose of divisional control for decades, Honam has been managed at the level of an agricultural city and neglected to the extent that it meets the need for agricultural water supply."

그러면서 "삼성과 하이닉스가 반도체 생산에 필수요소인 용수가 부족한 지역에 검토도 없이 초대규모 공장설립 계획을 할 만큼 어리석지 않다"며 "정부도 물이 없는 지역에 공장을 짓도록 권유하지 않는다"고 강조했다.

"Samsung and Hynix are not stupid enough to plan to establish a super-scale factory without reviewing in areas where water is scarce, which is essential for semiconductor production," he said. "The government also does not recommend building factories in areas without water."

이재명 대통령은 "정치적 입장을 떠나 대한민국의 명운이 걸린 지역 균형발전과 전국적 상생·공존 정책에 이해와 협조를 부탁드린다"고 덧붙였다.

김용범 청와대 정책실장도 이날 페이스북에 올린 글에서 "댐 여유량, 수십년간 과배분된 미사용 물량, 농업용 대형 보와 저류시설, 하수 재이용수까지, 흩어져 있을 뿐 수자원 풀은 충분하다"고 썼다.

In a Facebook post, Yongbum Kim, the chief policy officer of the Blue House, also wrote, "There is enough water resource pool, just scattered, including the surplus of dams, decades of unused supplies, large beams and storage facilities for agriculture, and sewage reuse."
