Shattered City: Ukraine's Lysychansk Falls Under Russian Control

리시찬스크의 함락은 러시아 군대의 피비린내 나는 오래 끈 승리였다. 무자비한 포병의 공세와 파괴된 보급망에 직면한 우크라이나군은 산산조각난 도시를 포기할 수 밖에 없었다. 파괴된 건물의 잔해 속에서 주민들은 이제 러시아 점령의 미래에 직면해 있다.

The fall of Lysychansk was a bloody, protracted victory for Russian forces. Faced with a barrage of relentless artillery and broken supply chains, outgunned Ukrainian troops had no choice but to abandon the shattered city. Amid the rubble of destroyed buildings, residents now face a future of Russian occupation.

1. A Russian-backed separatist holds a Soviet-era flag, which was raised to mark the anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany in World War II at the "I love Lysychansk" monument on July 4 after Ukrainian forces were forced to withdraw.
