Law, Sin, and Forgiveness
God is love (1Jn 4:16). Within God, love is the greatest. However, serving other gods other than God becomes sin.
When seeing [things] from the perspective of law and sin, [I] think there would be no law or sin if there is no other god.
Let us find out about sin and forgiveness.
① Lord’s Prayer: Mt 6:9-13, 14-15
② Mt 18:21-35
③ Ez 18:1-4
● Lord’s Prayer: Mt 6:9-13, 14-15
Jesus told us to pray, “Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.” However, he said you must forgive the sins of others in order for God to forgive your sins.
● Mt 18:21-35
(Forgive) not seven times, but seventy-seven times (verse 22).
Because a man didn’t cancel the debt of the one who owed him a small debt even after his large debt was canceled by the master, the master handed over the one for whom he canceled the large debt to prison. It was said that if you don’t forgive your brothers, God will also treat you in this way.
● Ez 18:1-4
A son can’t receive punishment for the father’s sin on his behalf, nor can the father receive punishment for the son’s sin on his behalf (Ez 18:20). God said the one who commits the sin receives it. If there is no sin, there is no law, and if there is no law, there is no sin. When an action that is done without knowing becomes a sin, [we] should forgive because it is the same as a sin committed without law.
