- 영한 : ~을 끝마치다, 끝내다.

- 영영 : informal a) FINISH DOING somethingto have finished doing something or using something

- 다른 의미 : ~을 겪다(경험)

※ I've been through a lot. (진짜 많은 일이 있었네요.)

※  After all we've been through? (이제 와서 왜 이러는 건데?)

- 예문 : 

When she was through, she took a pail and a flashlight to walk to the sea.

Ted is in his office talking to a co-worker.

Ted: Where are you going?
테드: 어디 가려고?

Janet: I thought we were through talking.
재닛: 이야기 다 끝난 거 아니었어.

Ted: We are with one topic but I'd like to pick your brain if you have time.
테드: 한 가지 이야기는 다 했지. 그런데 시간 괜찮으면 네 머리를 좀 빌리고 싶어서.

Janet: No problem. I don't mind helping you.
재닛: 그래. 너라면 기꺼이 돕지.

Ted: I've met a lady that I'd like to get to know better but I'm not sure she feels the same way.
테드: 더 친해지고 싶은 여자를 만났는데 그 여자도 나하고 같은 생각인지 잘 모르겠어.

Janet: That's simple. Ask her if she'd like to have dinner.
재닛: 그건 간단하지. 저녁 먹자고 해봐.

Ted: That was my first thought. But is there another way that isn't so expensive?
테드: 나도 그 생각이 제일 먼저 떠올랐는데 돈이 덜 들어가는 방법은 없을까?

Janet: Then take her out for coffee.
재닛: 그럼 커피 한 잔 사.

Ted: That's a great idea. Why didn't I think of that?
테드: 그거 좋은 생각이네. 왜 그 생각을 못했지?

Janet: Because you had to ask me.
재닛: 나한테 물어봐야 하니까 그렇지.


[기억할만한 표현]
