<p><b>POPE FRANCIS ANGELUS, 3rd Sunday of Lent, Saint Peter's Square, Sunday, 23 March 2025 (Text prepared by the Holy Father)</b></p><p> </p><p>Dear brothers and sisters, happy Sunday! The parable in today’s Gospel tells us about the patience of God, who urges us to make our life a time of conversion. Jesus uses the image of a barren fig tree, which has not borne the anticipated fruit and which, nevertheless, the farmer does not want to cut down: he wants to fertilize it again since “it may bear fruit in the future” (Lk 13:9). This patient farmer is the Lord, who works the soil of our lives with care and waits confidently for our return to Him.</p><p> </p><p><b>프란치스코 교황, 삼종기도, 사순 제3주일, 성 베드로 광장, 주일, 2025. 3. 23. (프란치스코 교황님 작성)</b></p><p> </p><p>친애하는 형제자매 여러분, 복된 주일입니다. 오늘 복음의 비유는 삶이 회개의 시간이 되도록 하라고 우리에게 촉구하시는 하느님의 인내심에 대해 얘기합니다. 예수님께서는 기대했던 열매를 맺지 못한 척박한 무화과나무의 이미지를 사용하시는데, 농부는 그럼에도 불구하고 그 나무를 베어버리고 싶어 하지 않습니다. 그는 “내년에는 열매를 맺을지 모르기” (루카 13,9) 때문에 거름을 다시 주기를 원합니다. 이 인내심 많은 농부는 우리 삶의 땅을 조심스럽게 가꾸시고, 우리가 그분께 돌아오기를 확신을 가지고 기다리시는 주님이십니다.</p><p> </p><p>In this long period of my hospitalization, I have had the opportunity to experience the Lord’s patience, which I also see reflected in the tireless care of the doctors and healthcare workers, as well as in the care and hopes of the relatives of the sick. This trusting patience, anchored in God’s unfailing love, is indeed necessary in our lives, especially when facing the most difficult and painful situations.</p><p> </p><p>이번의 긴 입원 기간 동안 저는 주님의 인내심을 체험할 기회를 가졌습니다. 저는 또한 의사와 의료 종사자들의 지칠 줄 모르는 보살핌과 병자들의 가족들의 보살핌과 희망에서 주님의 인내심을 볼 수 있었습니다. 하느님의 한결같은 사랑에 뿌리를 둔 이러한 신뢰하는 인내심은 우리 삶에서 참으로 필요하고, 특히 가장 어렵고 고통스러운 상황에 직면했을 때 더욱 그렇습니다.</p><p> </p><p>I am saddened by the resumption of heavy Israeli bombing on the Gaza Strip, causing many deaths and injuries. I call for an immediate halt to the weapons; and for the courage to resume dialogue, so that all hostages may be released and a final cease fire reached. In the Strip, the humanitarian situation is again very serious and requires urgent commitment from the conflicting parties and the international community.</p><p> </p><p>많은 사망자와 부상자를 발생시킨 이스라엘의 가자지구에 대한 집중 폭격의 재개가 저를 슬프게 합니다. 저는 무기 사용을 즉각 중단할 것을 촉구합니다. 그리고 모든 인질이 석방되고, 종전이 이루어지도록, 대화를 재개하는 용기를 가질 것을 호소합니다. 가자 지구의 인도적 상황이 다시 매우 심각하며, 갈등 당사자들과 국제공동체의 긴급한 헌신을 필요로 합니다.</p><p> </p><p>On the other hand, I am pleased that Armenia and Azerbaijan have agreed on the final text of the peace agreement. I hope that it may be signed as soon as possible, and may thus contribute to establishing lasting peace in the South Caucasus.</p><p> </p><p>반면에, 저는 아르메니아와 아제르바이잔이 평화 협정의 최종 텍스트에 합의한 것을 기쁘게 생각합니다. 가능한 한 빨리 서명하여, 남 코카서스에서의 지속적인 평화구축에 기여하기를 바랍니다.</p><p> </p><p>You are continuing to pray for me with great patience and perseverance: thank you very much! I pray for you too.
