The Avatamsaka Sutra, Religious Practice (범행품 15-2)

[眞如華]

     15-2.

     方便自在故      受無相法故      觀無相法故      知佛法平等故      具一切佛法故      如是      名爲淸淨梵行

     방편이 자재한 연고며, 모양 없는 법을 받아들이는 연고며, 모양 없는 법을 관찰하는 연고며, 부처님 법이 평등함을 아는 연고며, 일체 부처님 법을 갖춘 연고이므로, 이와 같은 것을 청정한 범행이라 이름하느니라.

because expedient means are free, because of acceptance of formless truth, because of contemplation of formless truth, because of knowing the Buddha’s teaching is equanimous, because of fulfilling all qualities of Buddhahood, is such practice called pure religious practice.

; 방편이 자재한 연고며

because of acceptance of; 받아들이는 연고며

formless truth; 모양 없는 법을

because of contemplation of formless truth

; 모양 없는 법을 관찰하는 연고며

because of knowing; 아는 연고며

the Buddha’s teaching is equanimous

; 부처님 법이 평등함을

because of fulfilling; 갖춘 연고이므로

all qualities of Buddhahood; 일체 부처님 법을

; 이와 같은 것을 ~ 이라 이름하느니라

pure religious practice; 청정한 범행
