[틈틈이 영어공부] Have you lost your sense of humor?

- 영한 : 유머감각

- 영영 : a personality that gives someone the ability to say funny things and see the funny side of things

- 활용 : have / demonstrate / display / show a sense of humor(유머감각을 보이다)

            have no sense of humor(유머감각이 없다, 해학을 이해하지 못하다)

- 예문 : 

I'm outspoken, but I bring a sense of humor to any office.

Ashley: Then you admit you said it?
애슐리: 그럼 그 말 한 건 인정하는 거지?

Mike: It was a joke. Have you lost your sense of humor?
마이크: 그건 농담이지. 유머 감각은 어디로 간 거야?

Ashley: I hope not. But please don’t joke about marriage again.
애슐리: 유머 감각 그대로야. 하지만 다시는 결혼 갖고 농담 안 했으면 좋겠어.


[기억할만한 표현]
▶ return (someone’s) call: (누구의 전화를 받지 못해) 나중에 전화해주다.
“I returned his call but he wasn’t in.” 
(그 사람한테 전화해줬는데 없더라고.)

▶ hurt (someone’s) feelings: 기분이 상하다.
“Jason hurts his brother’s feelings almost every day.” 
(제이슨은 거의 매일 동생을 기분 나쁘게 만들어.)

▶ make a fuss over (something): 호들갑을 떨다.
“He made a huge fuss over her inability to cook.” 
(그 사람은 그녀가 요리 못 한다고 호들갑을 떨었어.)
