Do you know the difference between good deeds and waste? In today's passage, Jesus said, "For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you wish you can do good to them; but you do not always have Me." This means that while we can always help people, we may not always have the opportunity to do God's work.
Just as God commemorates the act of anointing Jesus before His death, we prepare ourselves to receive Jesus and spread the gospel to others so that they too may have the same faith. This is precisely the event that God commemorates.
It's not about giving our surplus time or money; it's about giving our all, which is the faith that Jesus desires from us in the end of time.
