(서울=연합뉴스) 임형섭 기자 = 이재명 대통령이 북대서양조약기구(NATO·나토) 정상회의 참석을 위한 튀르키예 방문 및 몽골 국빈방문 일정을 마치고 11일 서울공항을 통해 입국했다.

이 대통령은 튀르키예에서는 유럽 국가들과의 방위산업 교류 확대를 위한 외교전에 집중했으며, 도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령과도 만나 군용선박 건조에 대한 후속 협의를 가졌다.

몽골에서는 희토류 등 핵심광물 공급망 협력 강화 방안을 중점적으로 논의했으며 오흐나 후렐수흐 몽골 대통령과의 정상회담에서는 양국이 교류를 더욱 확대해 '한몽관계 황금시대'를 함께 열어가자는 취지의 공동선언문도 채택했다.

이 대통령은 향후 이번 순방의 성과를 정리하며 후속 조치에 힘쓰는 동시에, 국내에 산적해 있는 현안을 살펴보며 집권 2년차 국정운영에 고삐를 조일 것으로 보인다.

우선 최근 정부가 발표한 '3대 메가 프로젝트'와 관련해 청와대 전담팀 설치를 포함한 지원책 마련에 속도를 낼 전망이다.

이 대통령은 23일에 부동산 정책과 관련한 토론회를 주재하기로 한 만큼 그 이전에 정부의 정책 방향을 가다듬는 일에도 집중할 것으로 예상된다.

한성숙 신임 국무총리의 취임도 열흘이 지난 만큼, 일부 부처 장관들에 대한 개각이 어느 시점에 이뤄질지도 관심거리다.

Lee returns home after NATO summit, state visit to Mongolia

SEOUL, July 11 (Yonhap) -- President Lee Jae Myung returned home Saturday after attending this year's North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit in Ankara and paying a state visit to Mongolia.

Lee attended the NATO summit on Tuesday and Wednesday in his first appearance at the annual gathering since taking office in June last year.
Lee's participation in the NATO summit facilitated the launch of negotiations on a South Korea-NATO procurement framework agreement as the president sought to expand bilateral defense cooperation beyond arms exports to joint defense production and development.

During his state visit to Mongolia, the first by a South Korean president in 15 years, Lee held a summit with Mongolian President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh and agreed to expand cooperation in supply chains, including in critical minerals, as well as in other economic and cultural areas.

The two leaders also declared the start of a "golden era" in South Korea-Mongolia cooperation, outlining a shared vision for expanding bilateral cooperation.

Back in Seoul, Lee is expected to accelerate the implementation of his policy agenda in the second year of his five-year term, including the "three mega projects" aimed at investing in a semiconductor production cluster and other advanced industrial facilities.
