[眞如華]

     6-1.

      5. 世界成壞와 初發心功德

     佛子      復置此喩      假使有人      於一念頃      能知東方阿僧祗世界成壞劫數      念念如是      盡阿僧祇劫      此諸劫數      無有能得知其邊際

     불자여, 이 비유는 그만두고, 가령 어떤 사람이 한 생각 동안에 동방에 있는 아승지세계가 이루어지고 무너지는 겁의 수효를 능히 알며, 생각 생각마다 이와 같이 하여 아승지겁이 다하도록 한다면, 이 모든 겁의 수효를 끝까지 능히 알 수가 없으리라.

Again, setting this example aside, suppose there is someone who can in a single thought know the number of eons of becoming and decay of innumerable worlds in the eastern direction, and does this for an incalculable eon; no one can determine the bounds of those numbers of eons.

suppose there is someone; 가령 어떤 사람이

who can ~ know the number of eons

; 겁의 수효를 능히 알며

of becoming and decay; 이루어지고 무너지는

in a single thought; 한 생각 동안에

in the eastern direction; 동방에 있는

of innumerable worlds; 아승지세계가

and does this for an incalculable eon

; 이와 같이 하여 아승지겁이 다하도록 한다면

no one can determine; 능히 알 수가 없으리라
