Matthew 16:13~20

13 Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?”

14 And they said, “Some say John the Baptist but others Elijah and still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”

15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”

16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

17 And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you but my Father in heaven.

18 And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it.

19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

20 Then he sternly ordered the disciples not to tell anyone that he was[d] the Messiah.


마태복음 16:13~20

13 예수께서 가이사랴 빌립보 지방에 들어가셨을 때, 제자들에게 물으시기를, "사람들이 인자의 아들이 누구라고 말하느냐?" 하셨다

14 그들이 말하였다. “어떤 사람들은 세례 요한이라고 하고, 또 어떤 사람들은 엘리야라고 하며, 또 다른 사람들은 예레미야나 예언자들 중 한 사람이라고 한다.”

15 그가 그들에게 말하였다. "그러나 너희는 나를 누구라고 하느냐?"

16 시몬 베드로가 대답하여 이르되, "당신은 그리스도요 살아 계신 하나님의 아들이십니다."

17 예수께서 그에게 대답하여 이르시되, "요나의 아들 시몬아, 네가 복이 있도다! 육신과 피가 이 일을 주께 드러낸 것이 아니요, 하늘에 계신 내 아버지께서 드러내셨나이다.

18 내가 너희에게 말한다. 너희는 베드로이며, 내가 이 반석 위에 내 교회를 세우리니 음부의 권세가 이기지 못하리라.

19 내가 천국의 열쇠를 네게 주리니, 네가 땅에서 매어 둔 것은 하늘에서도 매여 있고, 네가 땅에서 풀어 놓은 것은 하늘에서도 풀려 있을 것이다

20 그때 그는 제자들에게 자신이 메시아라는 것을 누구에게도 말하지 말라고 엄하게 명령했다.
