노경필 신임 법원행정처장이 14일 취임사에서 “법관의 독립적인 재판을 어렵게 하는 외부의 압력과 부담이 커지고 있다”고 했다.

노 처장은 이날 오전 취임식을 열고 행정처장으로서 임기를 시작했다. 노 처장은 “어렵고 중요한 시기에 사법행정을 이끌어 가는 중책을 맡게 돼 무거운 책임감과 깊은 사명감을 느낀다“며 ”국민의 목소리 하나하나에 귀 기울여 그 뜻을 제대로 이해하고 이를 반영하고자 하는 노력에서부터 저의 사명을 시작하려 한다”고 했다.

노 처장이 이날 취임하면서 넉 달 넘게 공석이던 처장 자리가 채워지게 됐다. 박영재 전 처장은 지난 2월 ‘사법 3법(법 왜곡죄 신설법, 재판소원법, 대법관 증원법)’이 여권 주도로 통과되자 이에 반발해 사의를 표명했다. 법원행정처장은 조희대 대법원장의 지휘를 받아 법원행정처의 모든 사무를 관장한다. 현직 대법관 중에서 대법원장이 임명하며, 재임 중 재판은 맡지 않는다.
