나의 사랑하는 책
비록 해어졌으나

어머니의 무릎 위에 앉아서
 
재미있게 듣던 말
그때 일을 지금도

내가 잊지 않고 기억합니다
 
 
귀하고 귀하다
우리 어머니가 들려주시던 
 
재미있게 듣던 말
이 책 중에 있으니
 

이 성경 심히 사랑합니다
 
 
 
There's a dear and precious Book, Though it's worn and faded now,
Which recalls those happy days so long ago;
 
When I stood at mother's knee, With her hand upon my brow,
And I heard her voice in gentle tones and low.

옛날 용맹스럽던
다니엘의 경험과

유대 임금 다윗 왕의 역사와
 
주의 선지 엘리야
바람 타고 하늘에

올라가던 일을 기억합니다
 
 
귀하고 귀하다
우리 어머니가 들려주시던 
 
재미있게 듣던 말
이 책 중에 있으니

이 성경 심히 사랑합니다
 
 
As she read the stories o'er, Of those mighty men of old,
Of Joseph and of Daniel and their trials;
 
Of little David bold, Who became a king at last
Of Satan with his many wicked wiles.

예수 세상 계실 때
많은 고난 당하고

십자가에 달려 죽임당한 일
 
어머니가 읽으며
눈물 많이 흘린 것

지금까지 내가 기억합니다
 
 
귀하고 귀하다
우리 어머니가 들려주시던 
 
재미있게 듣던 말
이 책 중에 있으니

이 성경 심히 사랑합니다
 
Then she read of Jesus' love, As He blest the child-ren dear,
How He suffered, bled and died upon the tree;
 
Of His heavy load of care, Then she dried my flowing tears
With her kisses as she said it was for me.

그때 일은 지나고 나의 눈에 환하오
어머니의 말씀 기억하면서
 
나도 시시때때로 성경 말씀 읽으며
주의 뜻을 따라 살려 합니다
 
 
귀하고 귀하다
우리 어머니가 들려주시던 
 
재미있게 듣던 말 이 책 중에 있으니
이 성경 심히 사랑합니다
 
Well, those days are past and gone, But their memory lingers still,
And the dear old Book each day has been my guide;
 
And I seek to do His will, As my mother taught me then,
And ever in my heart His words abide.

Blessed Book precious Book
On thy dear old tearstained leaves I love to look
Thou art sweeter day by day, As I walk the narrow way
That leads at last to that bright home above.
