Tanzania's president has said one sample from a remote part of northern Tanzania has tested positive fir Marburg disease.
In the capotal Dodoma, President Samia Suluhu Hassan spoke alongside the World Health Organization directir-general at a news conference.
Marburg disease is a highly infectious virus which can be fatal in up to 88 percent of cases without treatment.
Like Ebloa, the Marburg virus originates in fruit bats, and spreads between poeple through close contact with the bodily fluids of infected individuals or with surfaces such as contaminated bedsheets.
