[충청타임즈] 아동·청소년 성매매 혐의로 경찰 수사를 받는 최영중 전 청주시의원의 공천 책임론이 불거진 가운데 김진모 국민의힘 청주서원당협위원장이 위원장직 사퇴서를 제출했다.

19일 국민의힘 등에 따르면 김 위원장은 지난 16일 중앙당에 청주서원당협위원장직 사퇴서를 냈다. 사퇴서는 아직 중앙당에서 수리되지 않은 것으로 전해졌다.

미성년자 성매매 혐의로 수사를 받고 있는 최영중 전 청주시의원에 대해 경찰이 신청한 통신영장을 반려한 이유를 검찰이 '별건수사' 때문이라고 했다.

청주지방검찰청은 이번 사건 관련 통신영장의 경우 "본건 범죄사실과 관련이 없는 별건 범죄 사실에 대한 모색적·탐색적 영장을 (경찰이) 신청했을 뿐만 아니라 별건 범죄 사실에 대한 소명이 부족한 점 등을 종합적으로 고려해 혐의 소명에 대한 보완이 필요하다는 취지로 기각한 것"이라고 19일 밝혔다.

청주지검은 "압수영장의 경우 압수 장소 특정, 범죄 사실 구체화 등이 필요한 점을 종합적으로 고려해 보완수사를 요구했고, 보완수사 후 재신청된 영장을 청구해 법원으로부터 발부받아 집행했다"고 했다.
