Certifi cate in English Language Competence (General)
This very popular course prepares you for reading, speaking, listening,
and writing in an English-speaking world. Students who complete this
course can advance to the academic English course.
Certifi cate in English Language Competence (Academic)
This course has eight different levels from beginner to advanced, and
develops writing, reading, speaking and listening skills. Students who
study in this course can prepare for the IELTS, OET and TOEIC exams.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
IELTS 4.5
DURATION/START
4 to 48 weeks (25 hours a week).

We are an approved centre for teaching and testing.

ETC is an approved centre for IELTS pre-testing.OET TESTING
Palmerston North is an approved OET testing centre.
COURSE STARTING TIMES AND HOURS
Students can usually start any Monday in the year. Study hours 9am
to 3pm Monday to Friday. We are closed 19 December 2008 to 12
January 2009.
RESOURCE BOOKS, ETC
All students have free use of textbooks, dictionaries, tapes, videos
and broadband internet access.
STUDENT SUPPORT

ACCOMMODATION
ETC can arrange homestay accommodation. Students have their
own room, staying in a family home with three meals a day. Cost
NZ$200 per week.
ETC offers the following courses: Certificate in English Language Competence (General and Academic) Certificate in English Language Competence (OET Occupational English for medical nurses) What is the OET Occupational English Test? The test measures the language competency of health professionals who are seeking registration and the ability to practice in an English-speaking context. It is designed to ensure that language competency is assessed in a relevant professional context. The OET is administered by the OET Centre six times a year. Certificate in English Language Competence (IELTS Academic)
This course develops the writing, reading, speaking, and listening skills for the IELTS test. One programme is for students wanting to gain 6.0 to 7.0 or higher and another for students wanting 5.0 or higher.
Both are intensive study programmes and require serious students who are willing to study in the classroom 25 hours per week, and another 10 to 15 hours self study.
Students can sit the IELTS test in Palmerston North and Wellington, tests are held every 4 weeks.
This very popular course is suitable for students with elementary, basic, pre-intermediate or intermediate English.
We have different classes at each level. Students who complete this course can advance to the academic English course. The course is also suitable for international students who are planning to work or study in New Zealand.
Certificate in English for Living in New Zealand (Academic and Employment)
This course introduces students to different aspect of New Zealand society and culture. Topics include recycling, shopping, employment issues, taxation and employment. Reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills are integrated into the programme.
Our OET course is specifically designed to help nurses,while other medical professions may study this course. The focus will be English for nurses. This 6 month course covers the writing reading speaking and listening requirements of the OET test. When ever possible lessons use medical contexts, this not only helps in the preparation of the OET test, it also increases students understanding of medical issues.

ETC Learning Centre is the first educational centre in New Zealand to have its contact details placed on the official OET website Melbourne, Australia.
Palmerston North, Auckland and Christchurch are all testing centres for OET.
Customised to your requirements, the classes include only one or two students. We can also arrange recreational activities.

Students who purchase insurance in from their home country must provide evidence of their health insurance at the time of enrolment. We recommend that you purchase health insurance from a New Zealand company as this makes the processing of any claims quicker. Currently we recommend Southern Cross Travel Insurance, Orbit, Tower or Unicare.

4.5 는 48주 오퍼가 올 것이고요.원래 오버롤 6.0 (각과목 5.0 이상)이상 일때 6개월후 전 과목 패스를 목표로 하고 있는 것입니다.
